Tom Mitchell polls equal 4th in Rising Star

I'd say pretty good result for playing half a season. O' Meara the winner.

      Most of them?

I think Whitfield may end up the best of the lot. In his first year he reminds me of Travis Johnstone if Trav had an amazing footy IQ, was a fair bit faster and willing to put his head over the ball. If he has the work ethic he will be an amazing player- this is where Tom Scully can really earn his bucks, if he can get Whitfield under his wing and get him to train anywhere near as hard as Scully then, as a wise man once said, wowee!
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

About right for Tom, and I reckon the only amazing thing about the result is Riccuoto couldn't take off his rose coloured glasses long enough to give O'Meara the 45 votes he deserves. A freak of a talent.

Mind, I reckon the dark horse of the lot is Sam Mayes. Could do a serious amount of damage running up and down a wing for years to come.

O'Meara is a great, but I'm not so sure I wouldn't take Crouch if I had the choice of both. Crouch is a seriously good midfielder and if he played from the start of the season may well have had more than just Riccuito giving him the top marks. For Mark Evans to not have Crouch in the top 5 is embarrassing..for him.

Just looking at that full list makes you think it may be one of the best group of youngsters ever. It bats way way deeper than most years. eg. Schneider ran 3rd and Bevan 4th from memory in their RS years.
Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09
