Master stroke to sub Tippett in that first quarter.
Carlton according to Bwian have not had a scoreless qtr since 1959. Great record.
Great to hear Richo give it to Bwian.Nothing like a good light bulb moment.Comment

What a grizzly vision that was. Tom Mitchell sitting next to Tippett. Mitchell with crutches.
That was Malthouse's first scoreless quarter in a final.
Blues get their first goal since Q2. Swans up 48 points.

Gutsy win Sannies! But worried we have had a Phyrric victory. So many injuries. Seriously, the surface is not up to AFL standard. It was downright dangerous tonight. We should get out of our contract with this stadium asap.CIA Agent to Policeman: "Have you ever had anti-terrorist training?"
Policeman: "Yes, I was married once."Comment

the Swannies...gotta luv em!
and with the players out injured and injured early in the game....add just half of them back into that side and I'd be confident we could win the flag this year.Comment

the surface was a disgrace...I'd love to see just one player sue the AFL for OH & S. Then let's see them talk the surface up. Revenue is everything for the AFL ..even to the health of the players!Comment

Go the dunnymen!
Seriously, a great performance. At our best there are no passengers, everyone put in, McVeigh was amazing, Parker, Ted, Reg, Rampe, Malceski - I should list the team here because they were all just terrific. The young blokes - thinking Harry and Biggsy - were thrilling to watch and will carry us on for years to come.
Well done Swannies, a magnificent courageous effort. He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment
