I don't mean the scoreboard, that wasn't so extreme. Just the pressure. It was like a full court press in basketball.

Disagree with most here tonight. This was embarrassing. Swans played like Auskick all night - didn't want hurt no one. I didn't wish Kirk any luck when he turned into a club traitor. Stop being so polite, Swans supporters.... it always bites you in the ass.

Playing like that another five minutes and we would have won that.

Agree 100% . Kirky bled for the Swans when he played for them so good luck to Kirky and Freo next week, Hope you beat the Hawks. We lost but we tried hard in the second half. We lose with Honour which is what I love about the Swannies.

Why does Grundy panic every time the ball hits the ground?? What did Mundy and Fyfe get a hand ball out every single time they were tackled?? Some poor tackling tonight, maybe fatigue? Hope we can hold onto Mummy for next season.

Cant understand so many negative posts, not really Bloods supporters with that attitude. To get within 25 points was excellent even though we were never in it. How many other sides would have got to the preliminary finals with the injuries that we have had this year, not Freo, not the Dawks not the cats so a wonderful year by the Bloods , we in this family are very, very proud of you.
Congrats to Jude we will miss you, same for Mats, and Mort. Come on fellow red and whiters give them some credit and stop the rubbishing.

Proud of the Swannies year. Never say die. I've seen lots of teams give it away when they're year is done. Not this team.
Go Freo for the flag! My choice in Round 12. I can't see Hawthorn handling their pressure.

I'm somewhat embarrassed by the disrespect shown against our boys. At no stage did they not give their all tonight. Our depleted side was simply beaten by a better team.

That is utter rubbish!! UTTER RUBBISH!!!! Many players move on to other clubs after they finish their careers. Think long and hard about our coaches over recent years. Barassi (from Melbourne) started the re-build that got us where we are today. Eade (from coaching North & the Bears reserves to Premierships) took us to our first Grand Final in 51 years. Roos (sure he played for us, but only after a couple of hundred games for Fitzroy) first Premiership in 72 years. Longmire gave us another Premiership after a distinguished playing career with North.

Seriously Mr Neil, how many of OUR one club past players would have delivered the coaching success to rival that delivered by the coaches we have had from "imported" coaches?

How many of our past seniors players of the past two decades have gone on to be successful senior coaches ie, should have stayed on with the Swans to coach us out of "loyalty" & deliver the success we have enjoyed since Barassi?

Even our beloved Bobby Skilton coached Melbourne after his career with South. Would you dare label him a club traitor??

Sometimes it's just right to be honorable, polite, respectful & gracious in defeat.

Considering the setbacks we've had this year, I reckon our club has been outstanding!

Thank you to all at the club for another memorable season. And thanks Jude for a truly magnificent career!

                    Go the mighty Bloods!

There's a lot to be learned from the night and from the season as a whole.

If you finish top 4, you have to see the season as a success. We know everything has to go right to win the GF. We got one last year. We did okay given the challenges we faced.

Ross Lyon is a great coach. Horse will have to take something from this game. Lyon has set a new standard in pressure and structure. They are extremely well drilled. The best I've seen.

We need to rotate players throughout the year. You can't go into the final exhausted. Most of the Freo side had 2 of the last 3 weeks off. No wonder we couldn't keep up in the 1st half.

We uncovered some very good talent this year: Rampe, Cunningham, Biggs, BJ. Dre has improved a lot during the year. I hope we have a spot for Jesse in the team. He missed a couple of shots on goal, but overall, he was one of best on the night and hasn't had any shockers for a couple of months. I think he'll make a great combo with Tippett.

There are some encouraging signs for the future with some very promising talent in the reserves. I can see players like Membrey, Towers and Lloyd getting some game time next year.

Looking forward to having both Rohan and Jetta in top from again.

Whatever we do in trading and drafting this year, at least we will get Lloyd Perris, who looks another midfield talent (although a bit small at this stage). Hopefully we can pick up another couple of future stars.

On the sad side, we will miss Jude, but if we didn't have so many injuries this year, he probably would have lost his spot. For all his energy, Ben McGlynn can't kick. I can't see him holding his spot next year. We certainly will be looking at a revamped forward line next year.

Mummy was badly outclassed tonight. I think Pyke is actually the better tap ruckman. I don't think both can play in the same side.

Congrats Swans to a good effort for the year. Looking forward to 2014

I wish we played our finals at the SCG instead of the soulless ANZ stadium. I feel we miss out on the whole home finals atmosphere because we don't play at the SCG.

In 2014 I hope we don't get as many injuries and I hope some of these young kids in the NEAFL make the grade to senior level. I also hope that Brain Taylor is no longer a football commentator. He blatant bias against the swans is an absolute disgrace.!!!

Totally agree that its been a great effort this year with all the injuries we have had, disagree with others saying people shouldn't have a go at players etc after tonights game, if it were any other week though during season it would be fine. Im really disappointed with how we played in the first half, yes freo were great but some of our efforts were really poor.

I bagged Benny at halftime and was glad to see he really cracked in in the second half but unfortunately his skills and sometimes decision making are not what you need at the top level, I mean after 3 grubber kicks youd think if anything he would over compensate and go too high but no time and again along the ground.

We were one game from another crack at a flag which no matter how good your list looks isn't guaranteed to happen again and I think the players as well as fans have every right to be disappointed and talk and or think about what went wrong in the game. Doesn't mean we respect them any less.

What difference would Goodes, LRT, Mattner, Shaw, Reid, Tippet, Mitchell, Johnson make?
How about a match fit Rohan, Jetta, Hanners?
What about having the weeks break IF we'd won in the first week because we had our best team on the paddock instead of playing three weeks in a row?
How about having a relatively consistent line-up all year instead of having to plug injury gaps most of the year?

Give them a break & the recognition that they probably did the best they could have given the above circumstances.

I am proud of our Swans & their 2013 effort given all of the circumstances. I personally think it has been an effort worthy of the Bloods & all that we are, all that we stand for, & all that we as a club aspire to.

I got so sick of listening to that twat and his pathetic comments I turned off the sound at half time - was more bearable to watch not having to listen to the bollocks coming out of his mouth.
