    I will spend the off-season...

    OK folks. Now that our beloved Swannies are out of the Premiership race for 2013 (sob), what are you going to do until it all kicks off again in six months' time? (Is it really that far away?)

    Your replies can be serious, funny, poignant or a combination of all three, or something else entirely. Just try to start each post with a conclusion to the statement in the thread topic.

    So, I will spend the off-season...

    ....playing cricket; studying the draft, the trade period and all the other off-season footy news the AFL publicity machine continues to drip-feed us throughout summer so our addiction is fed; taking some time off over summer; and hoping our list has a lot better luck with injuries in 2014!
    Today's a draft of your epitaph

    My off season started 3 weeks ago.
    I'll probably spend some time upgrading the RWO to try and stop the constant hacking that is still driving me nuts.
    3 times I've had to fix the site since I've been away.

      I will:
      *watch the GF & rest of the NRL;
      * study the trade & draft periods;
      * wait for the draw & then plan next year, including flights & hotels;
      * plan a trip overseas before next season starts;
      * cancel Foxtel; &
      * CLEAN!

        I'll get back to you when I work out the rest.

            I'm tragic in the off-season. I'll spend the first 3 months the same as during the season; obsessively checking sports news websites and this forum for any snippets of news - trades, signings, sackings, rumours...

            Just before Christmas I'll realise that nothing is updating any more. Then I'll have to resort to replays and YouTube clips.

            After that there's a period of denial, then I get excited again about 6 weeks out from NAB cup and start counting down the days.

              I will watch the Grand final not knowing who I want to win (dislike Crowley and Ballantyne so much that I don't want freo to win, dislike Hawthorn as their Hawthorn).

              Then I will enjoy the draft/recruiting period, see what we can do to smooth the edges of the list and reload for next year.

              Then I'm off to Europe for 8 weeks at the end of November - going for a first big trip with the better half to meet most of her family for the first time in the UK at Christmas time and doing some tripping around too which should be fun (think Christmas markets, rich food and lots of good fun!). Won't be back till late January, at which time can start thinking about the new season and booking a few trips as well.

                I shall do the following:

                1. Read up on my new book "How to hack into the RWO website";
                2. Wait for my shipment of dolls from Haiti which are based on a new Victorian coach;
                3. Have a bum lift;
                4. Collagen and botox injections for Christmas; and
                5. Increase the size of my letterbox in anticipation of the new mail order bride.
                Nothing like a good light bulb moment.

                  We usually treat ourselves to a game-of-the-year from NameaGame to remind ourselves of what the boys can do. Problem here is to decide between Collingwood and Adelaide. Maybe spurge and get both.

                      MLB Post Season will get me through to end of October, even more so if the Redsox manage to go all the way this year.

                      From there, its EPL, and the joys of watching Arsenal promise so much and deliver so little AGAIN.
                      And by the time Arsenal are confined to the also ran pile it will be time for 2014 to begin.

                      There is also an Ashes seeries this summer to get a bit of interest in. That might be what gets my attention in November & December.

                        Is there any way we could launch a class action against the Australian Cricket Team for incompetence and ruining our Summer viewing pleasure. There's an Ashes tour coming up and i'm not the slightest bit interested.

                            Primmy, did you know that after about 3 years, the dust doesn't get any deeper? The important thing is not to lose your nerve.

                            I will spend the off-season ...

                            1. Re-watching my 2013 Victory Pack for the umpteenth time
                            2. Watching/betting on American football ... not as good a spectacle as AFL but much easier to make money punting on IMO
                            3. Being hopelessly optimistic about our chances of regaining the Ashes this summer, and then to be brutally let down
                            4. Eating a healthy diet and exercising regularly so that I regain my 20s physique before Christmas ... AS IF

                            and maybe, just maybe ...

                            5. Reading a new RWO thread several times a day - about a major controversial signing we might/will/did achieve - that grows to 10,000+ posts. That was such a ridiculous distraction last summer, had me totally absorbed.

                            doh ... 2012 Victory Pack. Don't make me buy the 2013 pack.

                              I will be:
                              1. Counting my wife and kids to see if the numbers are the same as they were at the beginning of the season
                              2. Propogating my '?hris Broad' tomatoes
                              3. Keeping a close eye on Billy Ray's letterbox
