Michael O'Loughlin new Swans Academy Head Coach

Michael O'Loughlin has accepted the role of head coach of the QBE Sydney Swans Academy

There's that rumoured good news story!
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Brilliant. The way Mick is building his coaching career and gaining experience will make him an excellent senior coach one day. Welcome home Magic.

        Now THAT is great news.
Much better news then reading about that arrogant knob becoming a Swan.

This can't possibly be the "good news" story rumoured on trade thread. This does nothing at all for the Swans.....and it's hardly a coup for the Academy is it? By which I mean he was the number 1 MOST OBVIOUS candidate....so very expected news, I would have thought.

                    Welcome home Mickey!
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I had a chat about 6 months ago with Micky O down here in canberra at lunchtime when he was out with his AIS boys in the Canberra Centre. Seemed to be thoroughly enjoying his coaching role and looking forward to taking it further.

Still my favourite Swannie of all time Look forward to him progressing to senior coach at some stage in the future!

I think this is fantastic news. Well done to all involved. I know my young bloke will be thrilled that Micky O is taking over.
