Eddie surely must have been referring to Essendon.

McGuire is a complete @@@@@. Funny how clubs, their admin and their fans tend to reflect similar personas....

Mumford attending the BnF speaks as much about his character as it does about the Swans. Good job all round. Colless going out swinging (given the articles popping up) which is what I will always love about him. Unfortunate that the new Chairman and Ireland told him to hold back, becasue the Melbourne clubs deserve it straight across the face if you ask me.

I'm a bit disappointed the club didn't stream the event. I would have loved hearing Colless and Bolton speak. Oh well.

The Collingwood boys were all invited and Thomas & Shaw in particular were implored to attend...they still chose not to...disappointing. I also hear that Buddy has refused to attend the Hawks B&F.....I can never understand this. Well done to Mummy for attending.....it speaks more about him than anything else. The Giants have picked up a good man..and I wish him so well!

I'm coming round - slowly - to the Buddy deal. A little concerned about the salary cap risk / length of contract but I trust the likes of Ireland to have done their sums very carefully.

The one thing that is really still eating me up about the deal is that it has forced Mumford out of the club. It's great that it seems to be without any rancour but I'm certainly going to miss him. And when properly fit (and sometimes when not), he's been an incredibly important part of our side for the last four years.

The sad fact Liz is that if you recruit a mega star...well, a few stars may have to be off loaded. Mummy is one. He's done it with class which leaves other oppostition exits in his wake. The reasoning may be that Mummy's body is starting to pack up. He's a ruckman that also plays like an inside midfielder......hard physically. GWS need big name signings and under pressure they nabbed Mummy....a risk with his back and bad knees. An interesting trade/draft period for GWS ..they are under pressure after missing out on Buddy.

I'm feeling a lot more positive about the deal than I did a few days ago, no particular reason, I'm going to come out and say that I think we will come out of this deal ahead and Buddy will be embraced by the footy club.

That's probably the reason why it wasn't streamed.

sitting anywhere near the front.... I'm seriously reconsidering my redback membership.
Last table up the back ... 300 metres from the stage.
I got our tickets on the day they were released.
A lot of other redback members sitting up the back as well.

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Here's a quote from the Collingwood BnF:

"A pervasiveness of selfishness has crept into our club," McGuire told the Copeland Trophy dinner

I wonder who they learned that from?

Maybe they didn't stream it as they knew RC would cut loose. He did. I'm just home. Mummy was shirt untucked and heavily in party mode when I left. But he was by halfway through the night anyway. I gather Jesse thinks Perth is too far and the Pies is a likely home. Colless was very entertaining - but it would have been fingernails on a blackboard for any Vic journos there.

I think Mitch has already moved back to Perth. He was interviewed on SEN yesterday and said he starts work on Monday.

Interesting to see the coaches don't agree with many RWOers...Re: Bird, he finished 8th in the Skilton medal count....

Another consistent year for the underrated (on here) Mr Bird.
