    First game at the SCG

This will be the hottest ticket in town for a few weeks. I am expecting a sell out.

When do the new stands get completed? For the ashes or after? And what will be the new capacity?

Edit meant to add "..in 2014" to the title.

Ready for the Ashes is the target (and I think they have already sold the tickets for that game). Correct me if I am wrong but I believe the new capacity will be 487,000.

Man, they're going cram a lot of people into that new stand. 3 to 4 to a seat. I'll offer my seat to Buddy's new GF if she likes.

Doh! Of course, I meant 480,000.

48,000 I believe and it is progressing nicely, will definitely be ready for the Ashes Test....

Reckon we will sell that out more than a few times next year and would expect a Buddy led run on memberships.

In the absence of needing to keep the SCG Trust honest I really don't see any reason for us to play at ANZ once our deal runs out there...

Is the ANZ deal with the Swans or with the AFL? ie do GWS games count as the minimum 3 games? Maybe they can have two games and we just play one (Hawthorn!!!!!!!)

We need more games at ANZ, not less.

I think it is three AFL games. We played two home games there this year and the Giants one (against us).

We can't fill the venue though, there are always free/discounted tickets (TEDDYSCHEERSQUAD, JUDE300 etc) going around which don't gives as good an impression as SOLD OUT. I think with the close games and Bad Blood between us and Hawthorn, that is the only club we can even come close to selling out at ANZ and which I would prefer to be at ANZ (although Round 22 2012 at SCG where Hawthorn came from behind to win was a cracker)

Collingwood was alright at ANZ but I don't think it was over 47,000 which the SCG can now handle.

GWS are apparently looking to move their home game vs us from ANZ to Skoda. Sounds like they aren't keen on the venue either.

The only reason we would play any home games away from a revamped SCG next year would be due to the contract between the AFL and the Mike Fitzpatrick-owned ANZ stadium....

Fact: contract to play at ANZ is until 2016. Sad, but true.

                            487,000? I don't think so! Maybe 50,000 I believe.

Giants will probably play the first game against us at Skoda. So very few ANZ for them.

                              Why?

Terrible ground, terrible atmosphere and we don't play well there. The players also hate playing there. Oh, and the pitch....

Could understand the development angle before but surely that is the Bogans' turf now...

All three games this season v the Bogans (23,690), Pies (42,627) and Hawks (37,980) ,in a season where we are reigning premiers and challenging again, would have easily have been accommodated at a redeveloped SCG. Give me a full SCG any day over a half full concrete park. It's simply an awful match day experience and whilst I went to two games there this year I always leave saying "never again", I know many Swans fans that will not miss a SCG game but now "don't do Homebush"...

Only reason I could see is to keep Cavalier and the blazer brigade at the SCG honest in terms of our stadium deal...

                              Cool, only three more years.

It has served its purpose, a 48,000 capacity stadium is more than adequate for all Swans games post 2016, including (especially) finals...
