So is the final verdict on the Dre-Vez trade a lose-lose?

Aw, that's being mean. Everitt did more for us than Vesz did at the Dogs! He gave us pretty good service.

You mean, why did they even bother to get Everett in the first place? I've got no idea. I didn't like either of them

I wouldn't think so from Dre's perspective, at least he's still on an AFL list.

Well I hope all that extra money helps him deal with MM shouting at him from the sidelines.

Meh serviceable this year but thats about it.

Will be interesting how he performs in a lesser team. He did some good things this year and in the past but to me he seems two dimensional, could break the lines now and then and carry or come across as the third and spoil but when he was put under pressure he was bad. Used to get annoyed at how he used to freeze just before he got tackled and then get pinged.

He did well for us this year when we needed him. To only get a 7 place upgrade for him in the draft sums up how miserable our trade period has been. The other clubs have all known we needed to save money so they have treated us like the 6yo kid who doesn't know how much his footy cards are worth.

But Doctor, when you hold the No 1 footy card (or close to it), then the rest of the clubs are going to take whatever scraps they can get off you

I don't think we've done well in terms of what we've got for the players that left, but I also don't think we've particularly weakened our squad. Granted, some decent depth has left, but surely we have more than enough coming through to fill the holes relatively well. The one big worry of course is the ruck - but elsewhere I struggle to see that we are vastly weaker than this year, especially if we go back to a more normal run of injuries next year.

As fro Everitt, good luck to him at Carlton. It was good to see him get a good run of games this year, but frankly, for us he was only ever going to really continue to be a fringe 22 player at best.

Well yeah the other clubs have sort of "shown" us this year becasue they have been so bloody cut up with not being able to think or want to take the risks like we have with a player.

So now they are showing us!

I really hope we come out next year and loose 1 game while handing out 70 point thumping's. Then what? The victorian clubs will want an inquiry into why the swans are so good!

Agree about the frustration of seeing him freeze under pressure. He has ability but a slow decision maker who is questionable under big pressure. Not a strong body either to shrug or give tackles.

Has a booming kick, give him that much. When we were playing the slingshot at times in '13 he would be the one would bomb over the top of the oppositions press, but when we dropped the slingshot he was one of the players who would just bomb it long to tippett in a 3 on 1 contest.

Loved his goals from outside 50 but again he needed to do much more for him to be a reggi in 2014.

Not in our best 22 but the fact that Andrejs played 20 games, including three finals, this year tells how useful he is. A handy depth player who's fast and agile and can play anywhere. Good luck under Sgt Malthouse.

I think he's reasonable with ball in hand - quick for his size when he can run in straight lines, and a long kick. He has his limitations without ball in hand. For example, as a one on one defender he's not particularly good, nor does he chase and tackle that much.

He had a decent season in 2013 and is a handy player. Overall I'd prefer he were still on our list. But he's not someone we'll miss unless we get mown down with injuries again. I'd like to think that someone like Lockyer is as capable of playing that 3rd defender role, and with a bit more aggression.
