    2014 Predictions

General forecast re teams' fortunes in 2014

Hawthorn - gotta be thereabouts again
Geelong - Can see slipping to bottomhaldf of 8
    Fremantle - top 4 again
    Sydney - Premiers (of course)
Richmond - top 8 at best
Collingwood - rebuilding year but may sneak 7-8th
Port Adelaide - overachieved in 2013 but will be 7th -10th
Carlton - Top 8 but could be an improver
Essendon - bottom half of table
North Melbourne - could be big improver and even push for top 4
Adelaide Crows - same bracket as Port
Brisbane Lions - will fight it out with St Kilda for the Spoon
West Coast - expect them in the bottom half of 8
Gold Coast - a smokey for the 8 but think they will just fall short but look out in 2015
Western Bulldogs - to continue their improvement (Crameri a good in) but will just fall short of the 8
St Kilda - will fight out the spoon with Brisbane
Melbourne - to win 5-7 games and be just above the two basket cases
GWS - 14th at best bracketed with Melbourne but generally more competitive

If I had to list my predicted table

    Swans
    Hawthorn
    Fremantle
    North Melbourne
    Geelong

    Carlton
    Collingwood

Big drop for Bombers and Crows. I think you're right about the Suns and hope so (they are my, and my kids second team).
I don't think the Weagles will be there next year, maybe 10/12 wins. 2015, when adjusted to their new coach, could be formidable.
Norf, like you said, could be the big improver next year.
Pies and Blues probably fighting for eighth.

    1. Dockers
    2. Swans
    3. Hawks
    4. North
    5. Power
    6. Tigers
    7. Cats
    8. Blues
    9. Pies
    10. Suns
    11. Bummers
    12. Weagles
    13. Crows
    14. Lions
    15. Bulldogs
    16. Giants ( I think Mummy will have a big impact feeding the ball down to the young giants talent, also I can see him standing up for his teammates, sticking up for them against taggers etc)
    17. Dees
    18. Saints

Will be interesting to see if Port can kick on. They have some great talent there and Kochie must be doing something right off the field. Moving to the Adelaide Oval will be huge for them as they got a pretty bad deal at Football Park. Lions would be stoked to finish 14th I reckon

Hawks have a tough draw, much in the way we did last year.

        Like Richmond in 9th.

Norths have an easy draw and should have been there last year, but will definitely be top 8+.

Saints/Giants scraping the bottom. D's have done well in the off season, and with the injuries they had this year will be much better.

Dockers, Swans and Hawks the ones to beat for mine.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

          Agree with most of this.
I think the Cats will be the ones to fall dramatically with North being the big improver and doing what they should have done last year.
I think The Bombers will be the BIG surprise packet and predict they will finish top four. Both the club and Thompson have a point to prove and I think they will be very tough.
Saints will be lucky to win a game and will have no competition for the spoon.

          My thoughts anyway.

            1. Dockers
            2. Hawks - perhaps lower, I hope they win it being biased but depends how they cover Goo, Buddy etc...
            3. Bombers - as long as they don't lose players to drug suspensions
            4. Swans - Lost too much depth - even lower if they have this years injury toll.
            5. North - Easier draw and good buy ins
            6. Tigers
            7. West Coast - Soft draw from finishing bottom 6
            8. Gold Coast - Soft draw from finishing bottom 6, should really kick on.
            9. Pies
            10. Cats - Lost too much experience for me
            11. Adelaide
            12. Western Bulldogs - Crameri a great buy
            13. Port Adelaide - harder draw this year
            14. Carlton
            15. GWS
            16. Lions
            17. Dees
            18. Saints
