congrats to all the young ones who had a go at making the NSW ACT team today

105 guys tried out for the final selection games today and only 44 qualify

more Swans then GWS kids made the treck today probably indicative of the Swans Academy having been established longer

Just wondering why Heeney and Davis didnt play today at the trials in Canberra ?

Are they injured ?

Murray Bushrangers played their final Intra Club today with all NSW based players running around. I'd imagine there could be up to 10 of those players in the NSW/ACT Squad.

He has a twin brother called Tom Dobson also who might have been playing yest ?

BTW 14 of the sydney academy kids in 2012 made the NSW ACT under 16s team so i am guessing a fair few of these kids would have been there yest for the under18s trial

There are still boys from Melbourne, South Australia and WA potentially to be added to the squad. They would be playing TAC Cup, SANFL or WAFL , so really just a culling of those not up to standard.

Sorry, thought when they said Rams which is the State team. Why waste everyone's time trialling when Swans and GWS could just give names. Some boys played for GWS vs ACT U23 game.

I believe as wedge said above some of the NSW boys down the Riverina way will play for the Murray Bushrangers in the TAC Cup

So when it comes to trials later in the year for the Rams NSW ACT etc then the lads from NSW down on the border will then be in contention for the State team along with primarily the kids from the TAC Cup team from NSW ACT

seems logical i suppose that the new NSW ACT Tac Cup team comprises primarily north coast, south coast, Sydney and Canberra region kids and that the kids down riverina only have to scoot across to the Murray Bushrangers squad
