No denying Benny's effort and popularity. What worries me is his skill at disposal. Unless he improves I will continue to see him as a risk.

That goal Benny kicked last Saturday from Buddy's 'chaos ball' was pretty damn good.

Certainly was, but then he missed 2 gettable set shots.

I'm going to go against the grain somewhat here. I'm not surprised by Benny's work rate or attack on the ball at all this year. He's been pretty much doing it ever since he arrived at the club.

It's true that Benny has always been hard at the ball, but he seems to be more involved and effective this year. Probably that he plays more in the midfield is one reason for this, but he does seem to be at peak form and really on top of his game atm.

Is this the first year Benny has been in the leadership group? I loved the way he spoke in an interview on swansafl after the game v North, almost like the captain and said that the team had gone away from its culture and had to take more pride in the jumper etc. He seems to have taken on the responsibility of being one of the ones leading the way.

I was one who thought his last year was only an ok year and that he might be battling to hold his place this year or next. So glad to to see there is no danger of that - he's reminding me a bit of his first year with us!

It probably does have a lot to do with being in the midfield, but my point was that late last year he seemed to be slipping, and I expected the younger brigade to be making more inroads, but he is staying ahead of the pack.

Benny's looks even better, becasue barely anybody else has been performing. I don't mind that he makes some occasional clangers, becasue he puts his body on the line every week and tries his heart out. As a supporter I'm content enough with that.

Certainly I'd say his career would have ended years ago without that level of effort and application - he's undersized, and his disposal isn't great, but Ben does everything to make you believe it doesn't matter.
