Isaac Smith is a key player for the Hawks. He has an amazing combination of speed, endurance and left foot kicking. Do people think that Cunningham will get the job on Smith? Does Cunningham have a big tank to go with his speed?

I think Ben McGlynn may also be a contender for the job!

All I hope, is the shameful surface won't leave us with injuries.
Comparing SCG crowds to ANZ crowds. I wouldnt go there girlfriend.

When you can get over 60,000 to finals vs the bears and freo. Let me know.

Excellent venue, and no cricket wicket to cause injuries.

Having not attended homebush, i can only say from afar:

              I think....
It looks embarrassing on tv. (surface empty seats).
I don't think we play exceptionally well there often.
I'm not interested in traveling out that far to see the swans play on a trip.
              It busted Barry's arm.
It busted Stakers face. Oh wait...
It detracts from creating a "fortress" at the scg, dilutes our home ground vibe.
Seems like we are on welfare, and bent over a barrel out there to play.
I don't think the club is fan behind closed doors.
Did i mention then surface? Its a farce.

I'm most likely wrong on all my opinions and points. But that's how I feels as a supporter and visitor to your state.

Pretty much correct on all points there - well the Staker bit - hmmmm...

Interestingly some of my NRL supporter mates were complaining about Homebush the other day for NRL too. They don't like going to the ground for NRL games either, although in my opinion it's much better suited to the rectangular games.

All I can say is that I'll be happy to leave it to the Western Suburbs' AFL team asap - good luck to them in filling it up.

And lol at any arguments supporting the surface of Homebush - it's diabolical for AFL and the ground would be ruled unfit if it wasn't for the big dollars some members of the AFL board are making due to the agreements in place.

It is not an excellent venue for footy, because oustide of the level 4 fancy seats, viewing angles are either too far up in the top tier, or very flat on the bottom tier, and the turf is consistently in pathetic condition, meaning the quality of the football is generally awful. I like the facilities at ANZ for fans, the usual ease to get away from there compared with the SCG, but its far from an excellent venue for footy.

The White Elephant is a better venue than the SCG...laughable

Love seeing this topic up again! Apart from quick access to aisles and bars there is nothing going for it as a footy venue

Forgive me but I must digress.

I have been to the Adelaide oval in the 60's when 60k watched Sturt and Port played. I have watched 70K play at ANZ when Swans and Lions battled. I have awed at 99k whenSwans beat the Hawkes at the MCG but I will always be at the SCG when the Swans beat the Cats by 1 point at the SGC, and watch Plugger kick the best point ever to beat the Bombers by 1 at the SCG.

For me there is only one ground the Swans call home - it is the SGC.

The Swans have a brilliant finals record at ANZ. The only loss I can recall was the 2003 Preliminary final against the Lions. The Swans have won all finals at ANZ since then!

I actually don't mind it too much inside, apart from the usual state of the playing surface. I do prefer the SCG.

But I hate travelling there! (Admittedly I live within walking distance of the SCG, albeit a longish walk.)
