Flying up from Melbourne a few times a year I only choose SCG games unless it's a final. It's a bit far out of town and no toilet on the train. Bit of a trip for the elderly.

One handy thing about the place is it's easier to gun up the highway there from Canberra for Friday night games. Don't have to leave work as early.

That was my first AFL game @ 13 (being from Tas). Went back home, and local footy just wasn't quite as special anymore... 3000 to a game just didn't match it!

+1 to that. That is the best advantage for any canberra based Swans with ANZ. Getting to and from is generally better.

I've always parked at Lidcombe station then caught the shuttle train to ANZ. Last time, the council had put in gates and a pay machine ! The money side of things didn't bother me, but the long queue to pay at 11pm was stressful. Everyone was angry because you can't pre-pay, there is no warning before you get into the carpark, and if its full I suppose you have to pay to open the gate to get out. I felt very unsafe. Its easy to say "catch public transport" but they don't realise that people have to get to a station or bus stop by car initially (unless you live very close) and you've got to put the bloody thing somewhere.

Have travelled to the SCG a few times and love it. Never been to ANZ and would never contemplate going there.

Rains less at ANZ. (ie yesterday and today).

Far easier to get to ANZ by car.

ANZ has vastly superior public transport. Including a TRAIN. And Buses arent clogged up with eastern suburbs traffic.

ANZ oval shape produces less clogged style footy.

                We win more an ANZ.

For me, its a hands-down win unless you live in the eastern suburbs and are all spiritual. But how much spirit does the new stand have ?

From your posts it is very obvious you prefer ANZ, and that is your prerogative, as well as being very strong with your views of the stadium especially when you compare it with the SCG. Personally I prefer the SCG, but I was wondering do you have a vested interest with ANZ stadium?

Except on Friday nights when Sydney is always clogged - everywhere (and even worse than anywhere else around Homebush - where major arterial roads meet). Couldn't believe how long it took the bus to get there from Chatswood for the 2012 Prelim (last time Swans played there on a Friday night, I think).

It will be even worse tonight with a sold out big show also on at the same time in the precinct.

That said, I don't have too many beefs with going to Homebush and usually come up to Sydney for one of the games there each year. Watching tonight from the couch in front of a fire.

Correct call. I am merely the balancing argument against those who dismiss ANZ all too easily.

I am a gold member of ANZ. Now I chose to be a member there recently, and I could have chosen to be an SCG member, or even Swans member. So I wouldnt call it a vested interest, as my choice was made after weighing up both stadiums.

The wi-fi is better here than SCG.

Great game. Great result. Only 34,000 at such a blockbuster??? Massive fail.

No excuses not to move us back to the SCG asap.

10k more than our best ScG crowd this year.

But I dont think Friday night suits ANZ. Better for them to be closer to the city
