    interstate fans!

Aside from getting a fox footy subscription, how else do you watch games live?
I am a soon to be uni student and QLD resident so watching from a pc is going to be my only option. This afltv/afl livepass thing is so darn confusing.

(apologies if this is the wrong forum, the entertainment one seemed too abandoned)

I have Fox Footy, so not sure. If I'm not watching at home, it'll be at a pub, but that mightn't work so well for a student...

Wiziwig.tv | Free Live Sports Streams on your PC. Watch Live Football, MLB, NBA, NHL, NFL and more...

I can usually get a good live feed here. You don't even need to join just find the link to the game you want to watch then click. I have had no problems with malware or viruses from this site.

If you know someone who has fox, find out if they use their Foxtel Go login. Each Foxtel subscriber can login on 3 devices, and you can legally watch Foxtel over the internet. I have it on my ipad and iphone, and at times have had to watch certain games online when such important things as keeping 4 year olds entertained with endless drivel from Disney Junior has been a priority.

I can relate to this. Good idea to seek out a buddy with Foxtel.

Foxtel Go has been a saviour for me watching live sport in a house where the missus loves endless home improvement shows and there is a 17yo daughter who has just discovered gems (can you detect the irony) such as "Friends" (inane drivel), "Will and Grace" (get me a bucket) and "Seinfeld" (OK, this one is good and I am glad she likes it but I have seen them all five times). I have a standing order in our house that I have priority over everyone if the Swans are playing. I attend seven to eight games a year, so I don't think the rest of the season is too much to demand over a calendar year.

But I digress. You will need a good data plan or Internet service to watch a lot of Foxtel Go. Very thirsty. It is only free so that the monopoly service providers can covertly encourage punters to upgrade their data service contracts for phones and/or home Internet. Even then, it could be cheaper than five or six beers a week at the pub.

There is always a pub somewhere that will be showing it. Even in Qld.

ah we needn't worry about the beers. this 19 year old girl doesn't drink many of them

Thanks though everyone. it seems leeching off a mate with foxtel is the way to go.

This might be helpful - details of the Gold Coast Sydney Swans Supporter Group. Sounds as if they are an active mob, "started in 2009, and we are a passionate group of Swans supporters who get together to watch our boys play at the Burleigh Sports Club." Also a monthly newsletter, annual luncheon etc.
