One that slipped my memory - Clinton King

Sounds like a really interesting guy. This paragraph interested me:

"His son, Clinton, inherited his ability, playing senior football at Sydney, Collingwood and Richmond."

Don't recall anything about this guy who played five games in the 1996 Grand Final season.

I found a wad of photos just this weekend from a B&F dinner in the mid-late 90s. It might even have been 1996. They are of me and a couple of mates, generally a bit the worse for wear, with various Swans players. A couple of them include a skinny bloke with shoulder length black ringlets - Clinton himself!

My memory of him....Twig thin, he could duck and weave, but just didn't have that finishing class...

He was one of those players you really rooted for, but he never quite delivered the chocolates.

Sad news about his father.

Clinton is still playing football. Plays at 'The Basin' in Melbourne's EFL. Not as twig thin anymore, but still moves across the ground fairly well.

Once described by Sandy Roberts I think, as the unmade bed. Wiry, but looked breakable. Don't remember seeing him injured as such tho.

Ended up at Richmond if I recall correctly. Never had the body for AFL.

Watched him as a junior (he was quite a bit older than me) with Jess Sinclair. Probably too small and just a fraction below the elite level.
