The fact that I saw a tweet from the club reminding members that their bar-codes are transferable if unable to attend is a good indicator of strong demand for match access.

The NFL broadcasters also promote women more than the broadcasters of AFL.

Anyone who watches NFL would love boundary riders Pam Oliver and Erin Andrews. They are both beautiful, highly intelligent and love the game. They are also serious pundits and sit on panels and debate with ex-NFL stars.

This does not happen in AFL and I would like it to change,

Fantastic, a loud near full house at the scg always comes across well on TV. Hopefully the crowd will assume the vacant Jesse White position and help the boys over the line.

Reading this thread is a tad emabarassing. Sure, not everybody can go, but nor can everybody attend Saturday arvo games. Just because it doesn't suit you doesn't make it wrong.

My two girls under the age of 8 have been under strict instructions to be unconscious every night this week by 8pm or there is no footy for them. They are excited to oblige. The game is starting earlier than normal so they will be in bed before 11. I think we can cope with that once a year!

Instead of complaining, try getting excited for one of our biggest games of the year!
I tend to agree with this.

The biggest question is how the members feel about this as a whole. (not just supporters who are so passionate that not only are they members, but they are addicted to online forums and travel interstate for some games etc)

I'm sure there is a demographic who are happy to have a weekend free to travel, or do what they want having the football out of the way early.

          Personally, I love it.
A FTA game live into Vic where it likely wouldn't have been if it was on a Saturday or Sunday.

Hate Thursday night. Especially during Vivid. Traffic has been appalling. Transport in and out of the city jammed to the gills. Wish the clowns would use the brains god gave then, and think. Assuming that god did give them brains.

Personally, I like a footy game on the weekend, that's workable. Mid week is an exclusion zone for most of the kids.

Talking about the NFL V the AFL. I think the AFL needs more post game interviews like this one:

Richard Sherman Going Off (2014 NFC Championship) - YouTube

Imagine Nick Smith yelling "I'm the best small defender in the game" after beating Hayden Ballantyne.

The fact that it's a 7.10 start makes it far more palatable. As a one off I don't mind it, especially as it's a blockbuster game.

Great crowd tonight - it really did work! All I'll say is, if that's how the boys in red and white play on a Thursday, lets play every game on a Thursday! What a ripping performance!!!

Hard to argue with the biggest crowd in nearly a decade.

Tell you what, if that is what they are going to dish up week in, week out - it won't be the biggest crowd for long!

                            Exactly.

Perhaps there is quite a large market up there for Thursday night games...

Thursday night games? Love 'em :-)

SCG was fantastic tonight. Only empty seats were the restricted views; behind the benches, top of the Trumper and top of Brewongle next to Ladies.

Fantastic crowd tonight...looked and sounded great on the tv.

What's the capacity of the scg? 48,000?
