For all the history buffs out there: on June 19th, 1874, the South Melbourne Football Club was officially formed. 140 years ago today.

Certainly was.

I have read some of that before, but had forgotten a fair bit.

I knew some of that but also learnt a lot. So we could be yelling out "Go The Cecils"! Or "Go the Cecil Swans"! Now that would have been fun.

And that old saying about needing to have a contingency plan in case someone gets hit by a truck has an historical basis!
