    AFL: Pre-season draft

The AFL wishes to advise the selection order for the 2003 National AFL Pre-Season Draft has now been finalised, following the lodgement of lists last week and the review of Total Player Payment Estimates for all clubs.

A total of 10 clubs were eligible to be part of the Draft and the order for next Tuesday's meeting, to be held at 10am, is as follows:

    Round One
    (1) Western Bulldogs, (2) Carlton, (3) Melbourne, (4) Richmond, (5) Geelong, (6) Kangaroos, (7) Hawthorn, (8) Fremantle, (9) Adelaide, (10) Port Adelaide

    Round Two
    (11) Richmond, (12) Port Adelaide

    Please note the following:
    1. Collingwood, Essendon, Sydney and West Coast already have maximum primary lists of 38 players, immediately ruling them ineligible.
    2. The Brisbane Lions and St Kilda were ruled ineligble to participate due to TPP constraints.
    3. Carlton is limited to one selection while Richmond is limited to two selections due to TPP constraints.

Those clubs yet to reach the minimum list size of 37 players, including veterans inside and outside the primary list, must do so at the National AFL Pre-Season Draft meeting.
