    Reid

Was that his best game in 2 seasons yesterday?
Especially the first half, he was so clean and very important for us, I think he was in our top 5 best players yesterday easily.

For a tall guy, he's class in the rain was beautiful to watch!
I know he fumbled a couple of times like everyone, he also had a couple of missed kicks but that'll come with time and more confidence.

I just wanted to appreciate his game because not a lot of people outside of the swans and their supporters rate him to highly.

His "swingman" role suits him and he's getting better every week.

i rate Reid massively and his SWINGMAN role is working for the team right now

unfortunately in life we so often stare so hard at faults we cant always see the positives...........is that not seeing the trees through the forest or the forest through the trees ??

Reid for me is ahead of most players in the AFL at the same height, weight, age and role.

To put it in perspective how many 22yr olds in a Key possie forward or back role at his height and weight are killing it in the comp? Reid if he played one of the 3 talls in defence would do it easy week in week out in my opinion

Reid is in the top 5 players for his height, weight and age......... and if we asked every player with similar stats to play as a CHF or FF every week for the last couple of years it would be arguable that he is still in the top 3 ie Cameron, Darling, Reid.........even though Reid is 4th target to Buddy, Tippett and Goodes which is a massive disadvantage for Reid to score goals

Jeremy Cameron stands out obviously and is a step above most

Tom Lynch another at almost 22yrs of age would is doing a great job also

Jack Darling at 22yrs of age also is a very exciting forward but a lot shorter and a different role i feel but still doing very well for his age when not injured

Question is...Is he a Swingman or a Wingman?

        I say Wingman.

He certainly goes into both, defensive 50 and attacking 50.

But the majority of his play is up and down the wings...And he does it superbly.

Ern......and one of the best parts of footy is rejoicing in the talent and promise of young players through my distinctly rose coloured glasses

Reid can do no wrong !!!

Hes certainly found a role that suits him.

May not be long until he becomes to valuable to play ruck (ala tippet)

I also noticed that he did some nice work around the packs getting the ball to advantage. The more he plays the mor confident he becomes

I would love to see him tag Nat Fyfe. I think Fyfe would then have met his match.

He is strutting around the park like a young Adam Goodes and playing with real authority.

                    This is gonna get interesting.

You want every player to tag Nat Fyfe. Or Dangerfield. Particularly if they are coming back from injury or otherwise down on confidence.

Tom Harley saying yesterday he saw Reid as future AA centre half back. Seems a good bet. In the meantime he can swing.

I've only proposed Garry Rohan and Sam Reid as a tag on Tall midfielders.

You can get a Craig Bird to go with Fyfe in close contested packs, but Fyfe will kill him in the air when in open play drifting forward. Rohan or Reid are tall, athletic, both have great leaps and Fyfe would not dominate them in the air. Until Rohan is 100% fit and firing I would not give him that job.

I think Reid would be wonderful on Fyfe and may be able to hurt Fyfe in the air going the other way.

There is only one Craig Bird and Fyfe would be far too quick and have far superior stamina for Reid to tag him. Surely that suggestion was tongue in cheek Matty.
