Noticed that Membrey, T.Mitchell and Nankervis are all outs for the reserves. I assume Membrey is fit if he was named as senior emergency? Hopefully not another injury for Tommy either...he's had a wretched run lately. Nankervis is presumably just a rest for a first year player.Twitter @cmdil

Not happy with this! The way things are going we deserve to lose Mitchell and Membrey (not that I think Tim will be a major loss). How could you not blame Tom for looking for opportunities elsewhere when selectors continually snub him in place of someone with far less talent but more speed! I wish Towers all the best and hope he plays well but I really don't think it's fair to reward a player who plays 1 good game a month compared to a player who gets 30 possessions in a bad game! I just don't get it???
I thought Towers would be in ahead of Mitchell during the week. He offers more pace and forward line tackling pressure than Mitchell of the subs vest.Comment

that is what I was afraid of Ugg. There was some murmuring on another forum that he went off before the end of the game last week. Don't know if that was true or not. He seems to be bothered by soft tissue injuries. A bit worried that it has been ongoing. Maybe they need to let the surgeon have a look. Tip was in the same boat and obviously should have had an op early in the season. This soreness is probably due to coming back a wee bit early after an op. It was rather quick I thought.Comment

Not sure what the go is on Mitchell. It could be that Longmire is happy with our inside mid situation and there simply isn't a spot in the side for him. There also may be an issue about Tom's ability to play multiple roles, something Longmire often talks about.Comment

Mitchell injured again. That's bigger news than Towers getting promoted.
He's certainly had a bad run - 18 games in three and half years. The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible newsComment

He sprained his ankle tripping over Zak Jones' achilles.

I hope Mitchell is not having issues with the Club as Lamb did last year? Himself and Biggs have been very unlucky this season. I would not like to lose Mitchell to another club unless its for Jack Martin from Gold Coast. LOL. Just think that GC guy is going to be a real gun, wish he was in red and white.Comment

Looks like we'll be limping into the bye. Happy for Towers but I feel like his form can be patchy. Hope he proves me wrong.
With BJ, Rohan, Lloyd, Jones (albeit omitted) and now Towers in the squad I feel like we are starting to draw on our reserves at an exponential rate.
Part of me wonders whether it would have been preferable to bring in an experienced leader like O'Keefe.Comment
