that is just my opinion anyway
There are certain attributes that Mick, Goodesy, etc have that Nick will never have, however I would rate his timing of dropping boot to ball a very unique natural talent and equally as useful. He is a prodigous kick and that Matthews/McPherson stuff is rubbish!

I have been critical of this player but I wonder how many players who miss a preseason and play in his position are high up in possessions Reggi. You should compare him with like players. He is a bit laid back because of his attitude so may not do as well as he is capable of but as a junior player his ability was astounding and quite freakish at times.

Certainly, thats why I added a few quick little disclaimers... I am really just looking at just straight footy talent, not being corageous or an all-around athelete etc. Which might be the wrong way to look at it!
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I'll add this comment to the list.

Nick Davis has the talent to do whatever he wants to do on the football field, I just don't think he has made up his mind yet weather or not he wants to become a great footballer.

I can vouch for that as I played with him at St.George in my junior years - we were all 14 and he was 12 and he was still a cut above the rest.

Have just been a passive viewer of this site since the need to re-register, but this thread was just pissing me off too much to not have a say...
                NICK DAVIS IS QUALITY.
Never before have I been so confident of a six point result from a swan, as when this bloke has the ball in his hands within 55 metres. And no, I have not forgotten big Tony's talents in this regard.
Furthermore, there can be no doubt that he just continued to improve as the season progressed. Some of his in-close work in finding the pill and giving quick hands off, or breaking from a pack himself, was nothing short of sensational. His pressure skills also improved dramatcally throughout the year.
Too many are refusing to see this aspect of his game, and are far too content to trot out the old "soft and lazy" tag, which I believe Davis made a concerted and successul attempt to quash in 2003.

Absolutely spot on, with the exception of being a better kick for goal than the big fella. If I had to have someone kick for goal for my life, I think I'd probably give the footy to Lockett.

Does anyone still think Davis lacks quality and talent?

Lazy, overweight and offers nothing to the rest of us.

Geez Bloods, you had the whole off season to drag out old threads and you do it on the first day of the new season.

Oh yeah, and Nicky D is an champion.
