    Equalisation Hypocrisy

Apparently the poor old Hawks aren't so keen on equalisation measures that actually impact them. Surprised?

Curbing excessive footy dept spending is now a bad thing?? Isn't that what equalisation is supposed to do? Hawthorn are becoming the new Collingwood

I heard the Hawks president having a whinge this morning about the money they will have to pay for equalisation due to the amount of their off field spending. As mentioned by Joe, how hypocritical!!

He did have an crack at Collingwood by saying that their pre season camp in Queensland isn't exactly lavish like going to Arizona!

Speaking of hypocrisy in equalisation, there was a list floating around on Twitter of how many games various eastern state teams have played in WA in the last 20 years. No prizes for guessing which club was at the bottom of the list, by some margin.

            Hawthorn and equalisation

Funny that Hawthorn jumped up and down about equalisation and want our academies changed but when equalisation hits them they whinge. Eddie's deputy (Newbold) was whinging abut the extra money they will have to pay because of equalisation which considering he was in the working party is quite funny. Plus Hawthorn members get compensated for playing in Tas with 4 away games at the MCG (that is included in their membership) so they effectively have 15 home games, this year it was 11 at MCG (7 home and 4 away) + 4 home games in Tas, + 2 away games at Etihad + 1 at Patersons stadium, 2 in Adelaide, 1 in Sydney and 1 at the Gold Coast, pretty unfair if you ask me. Sydney don't get extra games at SCG to compensate playing at ANZ.. So much for equalisation.

Liked Newbold's comment "but do we really need this much equalisation??

I'm a little confused what Hawthorn are spending in their FOOTBALL DEPARTMENT which they think has nothing to do with on-field results. Not sure why they'd be spending if it didn't have any impact.

Also found it amusing that Eddie's media company is the one producing a reality show which has, according to their own description in the first episode, had made a special agreement with the AFL to change their draft rules for the benefit of the show.

Yes Steve ! Newbold tried to separate ' on field ' and 'off field' equalisation , as if football department spending was completely unrelated to on field success ? Go figure huh. What a nob
