Goodes do much today against the wooden spooners?
I agree Biggs looked like in fit into the back line nicely, but his disposal is shocking, I hope it is something he can work on!

Reid was injured and Longmire said he and Bird did a good job to stay out there.

24 disposals and 6 tackles for Biggs in his first seniors game in a year. I'll take that any day. 21 disposals and 10 tackles from Lloyd too btw.

Decent performance from the team with the early injuries. They half put the cue in the rack but kept going hard enough to register a big winning margin. I was hoping for a Richmond loss tonight so they won't turn up in the last round, but that's looking like a tough match now. Probably a good finals hit out for us though.

Don't know what game you were at mate but I thought Bigsie's disposal was sweet. a couple out of 24 possies off a HB fell short, so bloody what! He gave some of the sweetest passes and some really beautiful HB. I think you were at a game in an alternative universe!!!!

Biggs & Lloyd were sensational in that they took the play on and developed the play all day. Same of course for Lukie Parker. These players made the play with Macca. This bodes very well for our side going forward. I loved Horse when asked about Biggsie, he had this huge smile on his face and said "Biggsie is becoming a late season specialist'. DUH! I wonder why John!

Crackedactor I think we had a couple of problems injury wise today. But young players came in and played their role & for a player like Shane Biggs, that is still on the Rookie List, to come in and get 24 possies and be named in the best players, possibly getting a Brownlow vote is really incredible. Lloydy was wonderful too. He might not get 30 possies but he doesn't need thirty to hurt you. If this kid gets 21 like today he hurts you because 90% of his disposals are going to be positive.

Trouble with that is Tim doesn't ruck and isn't capable of rucking. If Reid goes out then either Toby or Sammy N come in.

Poor Armstrong had played a full game in the reserves earlier in the day and he came in as sub because Pendlebury got injured in the warm up. And then Reid was injured right at the start so he ended up playing another 4 quarters!!

Yeah, I've been cheering Richmond on so the last game has some intensity to it.

I think Richmond will be pumped for the last game against us. They should win next week against the Saints so we will need to be on our best.

I am kind of happy that the Tigers won.
I want the Swans to feel that they are a real threat.
Not just a "last game of the season, in good form" threat, but a "this team is in killer form and unless we play at our best we will genuinely lose" threat.
Hate the Richmond games - probably my biggest bogie team.

Speaking of depth, good to see Tony Armstrong getting plenty of game time.

Hawthorn would have to beat Freo by about 5 goals to overtake us on percentage.
Apparently Armstrong played 8 quarters yesterday. A full VFL game and backed up for the Reid in the pies last night.

Biggs looked like he had played every game this year.
Was composed and disposal was mostly OK.

It's not very often we get young players that just slot into the team so well.
Especially in the back half where they work so well together.

Pyke is getting back into some form.
Dropped a few marks he would normally have swallowed.

Loved seeing Shiggsy on deck. I rate him a bit, alert like a bird.
Wished I like Towers, but I don't He will probably prove me as useless as I was with McVeigh with my assessment, and I hope he does. Loved the goal though. At least he looked a bit more involved than usual.

Well, it look like we can see the next generation of Swans establishing themselves well and truly. We have kind of got a half and half now. Nice lot of kids too.

Good to see Nipper at Richmond and Tony at C'wood turning it on.

Agree re Towers, just a list clogger I reckon. I have watched Nipper a couple of times recently and its really great to see him doing so well. Yesterday was his best game yet. I'll bet he's out to prove a point in 2 weeks time.

Aar Nipper is doing better away from Sydney and certain pressure. Its great he wanted to continue and can do it on his own terms. Love a good finish to a story.
