    Who's Superstitious?

I'm generally not. My house number is 13

However, in April I started growing a beard for fun.
It went past the McVeigh stage and the Franklin stage.
Doubt I could be bothered trying to get near Shaw, Malceski or Jetta in his heyday.
In fact I'm kinda over it and ready for a shave.

    But

We've lost only the one game since I stopped shaving.
Guess I'll have to keep it until the end of Sept.

    Who has random superstitions?
Wearing the same scarf every week, drinking a beer after each goal etc

Shave. Breaking jinxes and superticious behaviour is fun. Stick it to the imaginary man.

I don't believe I'm superstitious but to do with the Swans?

I wear the same pair of Swans PJ boxers to bed at night when the win. Must be changed to another pair the day they lose (I have about 5 different styles). On a losing streak, weekly rotations. This season, they might be getting threadbare! Can be washed on a winning streak, but must be dried in time to wear on the night of washing (threadbare but not stinky & unhygienic!).

Also wear a different Swans tie to work the day after they win if I am working that day (I've got 30 different Sydney Swans/South Melbourne ties, so I can go a season or two without doubling up).

You leave it alone - I don't care if you're tripping over it!

I started the match thread on RWO once and Melbourne beat us by 11 goals. So I'm not doing that again.

I'm not normally a superstitious person but, particularly with my footie, there are some things that I must do. For example if we make the grannie this year, I shall be driving.
We drove in 05, flew in 06 and drove in 12.

I knew you had something to do with '06. You just had to take that flight didn't you, couldn't slum it via the road with everyone else, thanks a-bloody-lot Jewels. You were probably chose row 13 too.

I am quite superstitious about the footy. Like others, it is mainly about clothing too. If I wear something, say a scarf or different shirt, and they lose, I pretty much won't wear it again that year during game time. Probably less superstition and more about the bad memories.

In '05 stayed with friends and we won - in '06 I hoteled it and wrote my car off out the front of Princes Park and we lost- '2012 - stayed with friends and we won - will be doing likewise in September!!! That and wearing the same ensemble each week!!!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

This could be a superstition, unexplained causality or cold hard fact: finishing top 4 and losing to Richmond is a good combination.

                      2005: Lost to Richmond.
                      2006: Defeated Richmond.
                      2012: Lost to Richmond.
                      2013: Defeated Richmond.
                      2014: Lost to Richmond.

There seems to be a pleasingly regular alternating pattern as well.

I knew as soon as I saw Jets last night that we were in trouble. Will someone please tell him to grow his hair again and throw away the bloody razor for the whole of September!

I am definitely supertitious when it comes to my two teams; Swannies and Chelsea FC.

Every time I wear the colours of my teams, they lose. I've gotten to the point where I won't even where the kit's sponsors brand the day/night of. It is ridiculously consistent. And I need help..

A few people have brought this one up on Twitter, I think it's just a coincidence, but having said that I feel that having a high pressure game like that just before the finals might be just what we needed, we've had a few easy games / regulation wins in the second half of the season. We need to approach every final like Richmond approached Round 23 and if we do that I believe there is an excellent chance that we will be lifting up the cup on grand final day.

                              Can I make a request?

For the month of September can you dress in black and the day after the grand final wear your Chelsea gear as much as you want.
