Its funny, but I always think the swans have the best state-of-the-art training facilities at the SCG, which the club used to boast about... but then I recall that that was about 10 years ago, and it seems that we have been left behind.

Hard to see the cricket focussed SCG trust coming to the party, so they only option is to move out I guess. I wonder who will pay for it.?

It they want a big crowd at the prelim, I'd price all level 6 tickets at $20 each. In fact, make all level 6 general admission.

Barry's right on this. If we can draw 65,000 for a final the Olympic Stadium is the only place we should be playing it.

The other thing about this deal that noone has mentioned yet is that this is an AFL deal, not a Swans deal. This means that it applies to the Giants as well. Based on the rate that they are improving and the players they may pick up in trades I suspect that they'll be in the finals in 2016 if not next year. North Melbourne host a home final at the MCG tomorrow against their wishes. It's not just us folks. It's a home city deal, not a home ground deal.

Is it really, given that GWS disn't exist until a few years ago?

Barry, IIRC Richard Colless is now on the SCG Trust and would be very friendly to the Swans. SURELY (but I have no proof and have done zero research) Swans bring in more revenue than T20?? It's in the SCG's interest to support the Swans if that's the case.

I used to think the same but when you add up the days in use..
                AFL .about 9
Cricket. 5 day test, plus another 5 or so 2020 or one dayers. Plus 20 days of shefield shield etc.
                Rugby league. 1 game
Other sports 2 to 3 days.

Overall AFL is around 1/3 of the usage profile.

The criticism of ANZ is completely warranted, as it is not a particularly good venue for AFL. But it is what it is, and all we need to worry about today is making sure the Swans get up for a win.

Lets just hope the turf has bedded down well this week and the field is in reasonably good nick for todays game - rain won't help, but it wouldn't help wherever the game is played.

The criticism of ANZ is way over the top.

I'd hardly argue you are in a position to make such a judgement barry, given your clear infatuation with anz, and because you are an anz member who doesnt appear to be a swans member as well.

Lets see how the ground holds up today - hopefully a week with no footy will have done it good, despite the weather.

So someone who dorsnt criticise every aspect of a ground has an "infatuation".

You seem to criticise at every opportunity the scg, and you go off your rocker at any mention of criticism of anz, so I think its a completely reasonable conclusion that your are infatuated.

also, still would be interested to know if you are a swans member or not?
