    How good is Nick Smith

I tell ya... Nick Smith is such an unsung hero. He just goes about his footy with no fan fare. Amazing player. Saw his interview on Fox Footy after the game. Great bloke. A full on asset to our team.........

BOG easily, and given some of the midfield efforts, that's saying something

He really was super today wasnt he? It takes someone special to blanket Ballantyne like that. What did he have, 7 disposals for the game?

Agree about Nick Smith. Been a great Swan for a long time. What about Jake Loyd gets the ball and rarly makes an error. He is so composed.

Jack, Lloyd and Hanners also had super games. Lloyds reading of the game and positioning is superb. That is Parkers best game for mine. It was a relentless 4 quarter effort by our mids, except that our second half midfield clearance efforts were horrible.

Nice shutdown by Cunningham on Hill.

I don't think Reg made a mistake today. Ripping game by him.

And Jetta goes to another level after an already consistent season.

Perhaps Smith gained an extra confidence boost from being named in the AA 40? What ever it was, it worked a treat. He was absolutely outstanding.

I remember Smith made a small mistake a few weeks back. I'm glad to see he didn't let it happen again!

Smith would be a standout midfielder if given the chance, but he's just too good at his present job. He's too hard to replace in defence and does such a critical job so well, week after week. As I said in another thread, I thought he was BOG. He's not given enough credit for his ability to pick out the right targets to kick to and hitting the mark time and again.

I always reckon we're going OK when the opposition have a key player and I think "haven't seen him all game"...(looks around)..."oh yeah, Smith is on him"

Rioli in the 2012 GF, Ballantyne yesterday, list goes on and on.

Good point. Harry was superb on Hill, as was Rampe on Walters (I know this one shifted a bit but Rampe had him for a decent period of time I thought).
