    Razor Ray Erased?

According to Fox Sports, Razor Ray Chamberlin has been told he won't be umpiring the rest of the finals series after a "disappointing game" in Friday's Qualifying Final

Yup. Apparently the assessment of his performance was pretty blunt.
Only missed the chance of umpiring us again by a couple of weeks ... close shave!

Double relief, Mal's hammy not serious and we can't be stuffed up by Chamberlain :-) Ray really is a pedantic little @@@@@.

All's going so well this campaign, let's hope it ends well.

I'm surprised. Here I was thinking he had become less intrusive and seemed to be on better terms with the players - all based on my view from a distance of course.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

That was my perception too Don, though I'd take those three from last weekend every game!

Now just need Matt Stevic to be found with hhis Hawthorn membership cards in his back pocket, and to have him kicked off the umpiring panel.

I thought Ray was ok this season, from the games he umpired for us

Yes I thought Razor has been a lot better this year. He still likes to impose his personality on a game and wants to control the whole event.

But Stevic is another matter. He is just a cheat in my opinion and I hope he keeps away from our games.

I thought Razor was sharper this year but he did cut a fine line with some of his decisions though. Shame to see him trimmed from the squad. He must feel cut.

How many umpires prematurely ended a quarter this year?

Chamberlain's elimination from the finals is even sweeter than Richmond's for me and a win for supporters who prefer to see the outcome of games decided by the players.

This thread should be re-named the Dad joke thread. Mind you I did laugh as they were pretty Schlick jokes

Ray hasn't been biased against us this season IMO but he hasn't performed well generally. Inconsistent decision making and not travelling as well as some of the other umps. There are plenty of other umpires who are done for the year so I'm not sure why Ray is getting singled out TBH. This isn't really a Swans thread either folks.
