Good to avoid playing Geelong on Kardinia Park #2

You should have asked him to explain Horseball to you.

And Eddie had to have his usual dig, that everyone will be going for North because of our list.

Geelong coming from way too far back in the final quarter, inspired by a herculean effort from their best big forward, almost climb the mountain but wind up 6 points short at the final siren. Shades of the 1989 grannie.

If you look at history?the good news is that the last time North made a PF (that they also had to play out of Victoria) they were massacred. The 'bad' news is that the 2 teams (out of 28 who've tried) who have won their SF as a 5th-8th finisher, have actually made very good accounts of themselves in the PF (in both cases, significantly better than expected), albeit both just lost (both by under 10 points!).

North played their possession game, and got away with it because Geelong's pressure was poor early, and for much of the night.

North, had over 50 more possession and even out tackled them.

They will get no such luxuries next week.

Our Swannies will pressure them and tackle them relentlessly...

And, unlike Geelong, we'll have a ruckman, we'll have a lot more than 1 weapon up forward,, and a lot more pace...

That's what I thought, too. North were unable to stop one 'power forward' tonight , so how will they stop two?
Scott recognises the problem, of course , so he will have some sort of plan. But having a plan and executing a plan are different matters.

Petrie is a fine player, though he did not look quick tonight.
Not sure if that's a fair observation as I was not watching too closely . Perhaps he was just tired late on.

Parker,Hanners , Kennedy and Jack ought to win the battle in the middle.
North run hard , but we have enough class to counter their run.

Smith must go to Thomas - and keep him goal-less early. Let him of the leash in the first half and we could be in trouble.

                    I don't suggest a PF,even at home,will be easy,though I think we will win by 30-40 points.

Are the Swans in financial trouble? A professional of his standing should be in a black chauffeur car like Chairmans and CEOs get.

He is at a work engagement and should not have to catch the train at 11.00pm at night.

I hope he is tucking into his eggs Benedict and mingling with politicians and big executives in the Qantas Chairmans Lounge before flying to Brisbane this morning for the reserves game!
