    Nick Davis in the 2014 Swans

    How many goals do you think Davo would kick if he was playing for the Swans today?

    I think it's a given that Davo was;
    • a more imposing figure than Tippo
    • had a bigger tank than Reid
    • was more capable of taking over a game than Buddy
    • probably more deserving of a couple of Bronwlows than Goodesy, but coaches conspired against him

    If he was slotted in, would he take the best defender? Would that then give some of the lesser lights, like Buddy, the chance to shine? Would we use him exclusively as a forward, or would we rotate him through the ruck?

    With limited interchanges and the sub rule now in place, his elite fitness would have made him the perfect modern day footballer.
    I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
    We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

    I think your analysis is fatally flawed and utterly underwhelming as you failed to reference what, in your eyes, has always been his most compelling attribute - his guns.
    'Delicious' is a fun word to say

      How could you overlook his relentless defensive pressure?!

      Policeman: "Yes, I was married once."

        Surely guns are obvious just by mentioning Davo?

        Now THERE'S something I didn't even think of highlighting. It's funny when you see a guy like Nick Smith make the AA team for his defensive prowess, but Davo had a career of the same (with some pretty special stuff when we had the ball) and wasn't similarly recognised. It's funny seeing how footy has changed in such a short amount of time.

            It wouldn't work, Tippo as a runner hanging about filling space in a Benny McGlynn sized iridescent top would be a little too obvious.
            Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way you'll be a mile away and he'll be shoeless.
