Lloyd had a relatively quiet game.....14 touches, 3 tackles.

Bird came on for 1 quarter.....9 touches, 1 goal

I suspect, if Birds knee is 100%, Lloyd will be the sub.

A couple of pluses for Lloyd as sub instead of Bird:
          • Bird is well rested.
          • He can help spread the load on inside stoppage work, and allow Parker to spend a bit more time up forward where he can be so damaging.

Sewell has pulled out of today's Box Hill GF.

He will most likely come into their side if Lewis doesn't get up.

I agree with Lud, Bird in the 21 gives us more options with how we rotate our inside mids.

McEvoy also pulled out. Not sure if that's good or bad news for Ceglar.

Cyril barely played in the 2nd half and sat on the bench for the final qtr while footscray team away with it.
I hope Schoenmakers gets picked next week. He was hopeless.
Good game and a good win.

The 2012 Norm Smith selectors may have been smarter than people give them credit for. My theory is that if the Swans lay 80+ tackles we will win the GF. In 2012, we had 110 as a team, and O'Keefe had 15 on his own! We won earlier this year with 85 tackles. We had somewhere in the 60s when we lost to Hawthorn.

Once we give one Hawthorn player 3-4 seconds to kick it, their precision kicking becomes a factor, and gives defenders little chance. It will be mark, mark, mark, all the way to the goal. Rohan could be critical in this game with his fantastic closing speed and potential to break that chain with a spoil.

Personally, I go with the majority - no change, or Towers for Reid if forced. I wouldn't be surprised if we start Bird if he is up to it as he is a tackling machine and then perhaps sub him for someone with a bit more scoring potential. Maybe Lloyd?

sewell was only left out of the Hawks side due to match ups. He always was and will come back in to play us.

Same side. Bird as sub. Less immediate need for him on the inside than earlier in the year. The mitigating factor is Jack's return to full fitness after the rib injury earlier this year. He's spending more time at centre bounces last few weeks, alongside Kennedy, McGlynn and Man Child.

Stick to the formula that's been working. No change unless Reid pulls up poorly.

There's still a slight concern about whether the MRP will take a look at Kieren Jack's tackle on McDonald. Kieren Jack likely to escape suspension for grand final
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

                          Out: Kenny (hand)
                          In: Joey's Grandma
                          New: Joey's Grandma (Hawthorn)

Tough on Kenny, but it looked like that hand needs a few more weeks, we'll see what Matt Cameron says this week.

Lloyd is fortunate or unfortunate he is pretty versatile so may be considered. Interest looking at the disposal figures most players were near their average or below, except Buddy, Tips, Goodes and Rohan (probably trying to make up for last week), they were all well over it. Jake averages 15 so below average

Anyone else expect Benny Mac to get about 50 possessions this Saturday? He's a man on a mission - or he's possessed.

I had a fiver on him at 16-1 for the Norm Smith.
