To march or not to march

Hey people,
I guess it is a good enough time to end my RWO exile & start posting. Wanted to open the forum to peoples' thoughts on arranging a pre-match supporters march to the MCG on Saturday.

Anyone who watched what the Port fans got up to on Saturday can only have been impressed with what they saw; nearly 10000 fans marching in unison to the ground. However Port do this every week over in Adelaide, are good at it & have been able to mobilise the masses very successfully.

The question I want to ask people on here, is would we be interested in doing the same? If so, how would we be able to pull this off? If not, why not? Let's get talking peoples!

JF, welcome back! Like you, I was very impressed with how they did this. If there were a march, I'd join it. To break it down, this is what needs to happen:

- need a starting spot where everyone meets. Obvious answer there - fed square. Unless you wanted to make it epic and walk from Lake Oval to the MCG (about 3.5km)
- need to get the word out. RWO and bigfooty is a start. But you'd probably need to hit social media too. Possibly create a Facebook event and push it out.
- need to time it properly. It would be a slow walk so allow for stragglers. Can't arrive too late - arrive at a time that most people will likely want to arrive irrespective of the march.
- involve the cheer squad (assume you're still a member JF).
- include a unique twist - possibly involve cyggy? Not sure on this part. At least hit him up to get the word out via his Facebook page.

You could contact the Swans and ask them to put it out one their facebook & twitter pages
