GF Curtain Raiser - our future on display

I am looking forward to the curtain raiser as much as the GF. Well almost. Some of our future potential draft picks will be on display in the curtain raiser. There will be NAB AFL All Stars match between an Academy Allies team against the Australian under-17 team. For the Allies we will see Heeney, Davis, Hiscox and Foote. For the under 17's we will see Mills and Dunkley. We could actually see Heeney and Mills match-up on each other. If going to the game, try to get there early and support the boys. Otherwise the game will be streamed live on AFL.com.au on Saturday from 9.55am.

Its a shame the pre-game starts sooo early on - if they'd do away with the crappy pre game entertainment and stick to the traditional (curtain raiser, gf sprint) then it would be much better than wasting some money on the usual donkeys they get in for pre match entertainment.

I'll try to get there for some of the later part of the game as would love to watch our guys go around.

Do we have a runner in the Sprint this year?

Didn't Harry win the GF sprint in 2012? Maybe I'm misremembering.

I am guessing BJ will be our entrant this year. Could be Towers but i imagine he'll be an emergency for the game, which might preclude him. Shame we can't use Hiscox. He's really quick.

I'd like to see Marsh, I think he's quick but we haven't seen much of it on the field. Dick's pretty fast too based on his draft combine results IIRC.

Now I remember: Harry won his heat but came second to Dangerfield in the final.

We're getting Tom Jones. Arm yourselves with old underpants.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Yep. I've got three threadbare Y-fronts looking for a good home.

When Fevola won they had the handicap system in place which meant if you dogged it in the lead up races you could get a nice head start.
