Best pubs in South Melbourne for celebrations?

    Hi all,

I am planning on celebrating in South Melbourne on Saturday night after attending the game. What will The Rising Sun be like if we win?

Any other suggestions? Will be about six or seven of us keen to kick on into the night!

    Cheers,

    Joe

Rising Sun will be full as a tick.

Rising Sun will be full as a tick.
Went to the Water Rat in 2012 afterwards. Was superb. Is 2 blocks from the Rising Sun.

Bugger! Just looked the Water Rat up, and they're undergoing renovations, will be back open in October...

Someone on twitter mentioned the Cricketers Club Hotel. Any good?

In 2012 I hit about 4 pubs on or around Clarendon st, couldn't tell you what they were called but all were packed full of swans. I'd imagine it will be the same this year if we manage to win. You won't have trouble finding somewhere to celebrate.

The Emerald on Clarendon is pretty good - down the Southern End of Clarendon - towards the old ground. Owned by a relation of Dale Lewis.

I remember leaving there at around 4:30AM in 2005!

Perfect, staying in Sth Melb, no need for a quiet night.

We ended up at Bells in 2005 & 2006. Fair to say 2005 was huge. Went back to Bells in 2012 and we won't be going back. Poker machines have killed the joint

Any pub in South will be packed if we win.

The Rising Sun is small but has lots of South Melbourne/Sydney Swans memorabilia on the walls and is the "home" of the Swans in South.

The Limerick Hotel 364 Clarendon Street, South Melbourne.

Being there every GF since 2005!

Always filled with Swanies, and they have a replay going on a loop, or did the last time.

Agree. The Rising Sun is one of the best. It rocked the night of the 2012 GF!
