Serious question: How will today's result affect membership numbers next year?
Note that I didn't make reference to "today's effort."Comment

That said, it was not unreasonable to expect them to go out there and compete, something that all but a couple of players completely failed to do.Comment

Hawthorn played the way you would expect a great team to play in a grand final.
On the other hand, we ................. well what can you say? It was a dour performance across the board. The sad thing is that it was hardly a game worth watching. It was over in the 1st quarter. We hardly put up any sort of a fight. It's so hard to explain.
Some of the stats are hard to believe. 442-298 possession. A mere 57 tackles. Macca, 11 possessions and only 1 tackle.
My commiserations to all the RWOers who had to endure that performance at the MCG.Comment

For a minor premiers team, it was horrible and they can think about today right through the pre-season.
Playing like they did during the season and to front up like they did today ....Comment

I have absolutely not an ounce of pity for the players...I feel for the many Swans fans who paid big money for tickets and travel fares...for NOTHING!!!!! No effort AT ALL from a good two thirds of the team....To have surged into contention after round 4 ...to win 12 in a row...the minor premiership....and then to put on a display like this against a very good side that we beat in the GF 2 years ago...also beat early this year,,,and lost to by a very small margin a few short weeks ago at this very venue...makes no sense to me...I am sick to my stomach, but as is the nature of footy...I should simply get over it quickly. The players are less concerned at this point than we are believe me. They have tonights booze up and next weeks' party on their minds...Stuff 'em...Sorry, but I am gutted...what a fool I am...Comment

We saved our worst for last.... for a grand final that was horrid. Well beaten across the ground and never in it. You couldn't have planned for the day to go worse if you tried.
well done to the hawks - they turned up ready to play and we were still in sydney.
Going to be a long summer and I hope it stings for the players as much as it does for the fans who had to watch that imitation of an effort.
We will be back in 2015 but today showed we have plenty of work to do to win the flag.
oh and hawks fans are flogs - consistent booing of goodes was ridiculous when they should of been focusing on their own magnificent team."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

Bring back the COLA. They need it badly.

I can imagine the majority of the team were fully prepared but it takes one or two to throw everything out of whack. Connections misfire and nothing works.
That being said, they are an elite sports team and you'd think they should be able to manage it. However, nothing is 100%, they're not robots. And it was just really unlucky that today was their off day.Comment

Can we get Eddie onside to even up the competition by having the Grand Final played at the ground of the team playing that finishes top. Absolutely unfair that we had to play at Hawthorn's home ground despite being minor premiers. I guess Eddie might not take that into account seeing where Collingwood play.Comment
