Very wise girls , don't want to say anything you might regret.
My girls would have done likewise , they also made good the weekend, Brunettis for dinner was fab, Art Gallery, Fairy Penguins on St Kilda breakwater, playing Jengo at breakfast at Phamish's
(Great breakfast ) .
We like Melbourne , we are rusted on Swannies .
Will be back when they have another crack.
16 other clubs would love to have played in The Granny.
In every Hawk players mind and probably written on their lockers would certainly have been
LETS MAKE BUDDY PAY FOR LEAVING US !
Huge motivation there .Comment

My wife just added
The Swans have entertained you for a whole season ,
Why they failed to play well on Grand Final will be analysed by everyone involved .
Did they all get a dreadful sleep, did they have food poisoning , were they all exhausted ....
Footy is a great pastime and diversion from the humdrum in our lives .
It doesn't always turn out the way we desperately want it to so we feel part of the triumph of it all.
We enjoyed a great many of the games this year and look forward to 2015.Comment

Gotta agree with what HP's lady is saying. The same feeling Hawks supporters felt in 2012 are what we're going through in 2014, without having a star player go to a rival! Really need to get over it and move on. I'm devastated too but it's done now, the players and coaches have to learn from it and try to get better.Comment

I wanted to go to the players reception in melbourne on Sunday morning before we began our long, painful drive home but my daughters took the car keys and wouldnt let me drive as they knew exactly what would be spewing forth from my mouth and it would not have been cheers and commiserations!
Clever girls I think!
Why does that drive seem never ending after a loss? I swear it felt like we were driving for days....
There was a traffic jam just outside the welcome to Sydney sign. This added an hour to my travel time. 101.7 then played the song that summed up everything about the weekend:
"Your out of touch, your out of touch"
I can't wait to work of the disappointment of this weekend by smashing some workouts. There will be 10 Jimmy's pushing me along. I pity the person holding the pads.Comment

I shared the Sunday drive back with Goods78 and I think he needs another holiday as well as a medal. Listening to me talking non-stop for 10 hours on a variety of society topics is hard work. I think the Red and White community understand where I'm coming from.

I was caught in the same traffic jam. I then got home to discover that my four year old had been a naughty boy at some birthday parties in my absence. After Vegas and this trip I'm out of leave passes!Comment

Please don't post offensive mistakes such as that again....Comment

We were in the same jam.
Damn this traffic jam,
How I hate to be late.
Thanks to James Taylor. He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

I imagined during the week all sorts of emotions that were possible after the game. Everything from elation to being gutted. Never imagined SHAME and EMBARRASSMENT...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. The game reminded me of when GWS were being physically outmatched and shell shocked by more experienced teams, but one thing you have to give them with leadership- no matter how bad things got I can't remember a single game where Callan Ward didn't will himself to get to stoppages and continue to throw himself at the ball. They're different players, bug I can't recall seeing McVeigh or Jack do that during the game (obviously not the only ones).I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

Something about assuming they didn't really care/try doesn't sit well with me. No one dreams of playing on Grand Final day and dedicates their entire life to getting there and doesn't care when it's slipping away. I have no doubt that they were shattered inside already, the team more so than every single one of us. I don't know what the problem was, but lack of care wasn't it.Comment

I'm sure they are feeling horrible and only they'll know why the effort and intensity was pretty much non existent. This wasn't a team having a red hot crack and getting beaten by a better team...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. To borrow from Matt80;
This is just my opinion.
