I think the biggest FU the swan fans and members can give the AFL is to boycott all away games vs GWS from here on end. Its going to be embarrassing for the league when their artificial team run out on their home ground against the swans to only 2-3k diehards and the echoing sound of the umps whistle around an empty modern stadium. BUT saying that the AFL is run by vindictive businessmen so it wouldn't surprise me that as punishment for swan fans not attending GWS home games and embarrassing the league they will engineer another form of payback. One thing the AFL hates - its product being made to look bad.
All home games at ANZ stadium!

Yep, as far as I can tell. It was posted on twitter and it doesn't look Photoshopped. The actual report (from The Economist magazine/website) is true!

The arrogance of the AFL has simply astounded me. If I did not love the Swans so much...I would almost walk away from the game and I cannot believe I am saying that!!
Off season - the footy shows are in recess so there is no overt mouthpiece to rubbish their decision. As a famous comedian once said; it is all in the timing.

AFL slaps trade ban on Swans

Jarryd Hayne leaving NRL to try out for NFL + ongoing Wallabies' drama + general disinterest in AFL in Sydney have destined the Swans trade ban to be a forgotten non-event for the Sydney media.

Correct - plus the A-League going from strength to strength especially in western Sydney.

I think the ban was trading in players or bringing in Free Agents.

The AFL probably figures that there won't be any worthwhile players in the Delisted FA pool so haven't banned us from that. All the delisted players and players that don't get a new contract for 2015 season can be directly signed I believe. It's how we picked up Derickx and Laidler last year. Just wondering if we might grab one or two just for depth as our experienced list is looking very thin.

Very disappointed in the Melbourne media particularly Mark Robinson and David King who actually supported the swans as a kid . Why the media don't want to chase this story has you asking questions .Personally I believe the ban was put in place to give GWS an advantage over the swans ,if the swans have done something wrong like being over the cap, why not come out and say it, they put the ban in place just not the answer to why. Outside the Essendon scandal it is probably the biggest story in the last few years it deserves more media attention

It's only round 2 of the A League. Wait for the season to shake out and see how many get to games.

The AFLs rational for allowing us access to delisted free agents is that there is no competition for them so thus we cannot unfairly use our dastardly COLA to beat off other clubs.
Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.

Gerard Healy giving the commission a blast on 3AW at the moment. Apparently the talk was that we were looking at Frawley and the commission didn't like it.

It seems the commission is happy for the premiers to get him though. Boy is this competition rigged or what!
