Doesn't matter if he is on the same money or less than Jetta.

It is most unfair and blatant payback by Fitzpatrick and his band of cronies because we had the temerity to sign Franklin. Anyone that thinks anybody south of the border will care about this is deluded....
Call me an optimist but I doubt Jetts would go to WCE after the performance of their fans the other week. That leaves just Fremantle if he chooses to go home.

Meanwhile, the way I see it, neither of the WA teams are going to have a pick low enough to give Sydney fair value, so they would have to do some fancy three-way trading of picks and players to do so or Jetts might have to chance the draft or stay put (which is what I think will happen).

Confirmed by the VFL today that the ban will stay for this years trade period, players on no more than the average wage.

Don't think it's now likely but if we could win the flag it would stick it right up Fitpatrick and McLaughlin.

Amazing how the leaking of WADA information about the bombers case suddenly occurred. Could it be to deflect from the current controversy?? It will all be forgotten just like last year when the trade ban was announced and the doggies sacked their coach. Very frustrating!

The change today that permits trading future picks will open the door to facilitate fair compensation for any players traded out. Clubs might be more open to giving up picks beyond the top 20, but for us, due to the academy bidding system, it has more usage for the value points needed to get academy players.

Except us poor Vic based Swans fans, of course. The media down here has been pretty quiet on the issue. Mark Robinson (the Hun) seems to have in for Fitzpatrick, and has written a couple of good articles attacking him over the Goodes situation, and today, an 'in general' piece on Fitzpatrick's 'aggressive' management style over the years, but not much about the trade ban or how unjust it is. But I see the AFL has come out in 'full denial' mode today re; Colless' claims, reiterating that the ban stays, and of course no decent reason given for it, yet again.......sigh.

Horse's cup acceptance speech could potentially be a beauty, but he has too much class for them. Be good though, if he did a Mark Williams and told them they were a bunch of flogs......

Tom's trying to keep it in the news....Swans' trade restrictions affect every club, says Harley - AFL.com.au. Probably won't change anything, we know the VFL don't give a @@@@, but good on him anyway.

So in the middle of the Swans suffering through made up penalties because we used an AFL approved scheme that allowed us to provide money to players beyond the cap, the Vic central AFL has now approved for teams to spend $500k over the cap?

Does nobody in AFL HQ stop and think "yeah, the timing of this doesn't look the best?
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

The AFL are really pissing me off.

On a brighter note, I got my 37 t-shirt today.
                    Yayyyyyyyyy.

Jon Ralph has written an interesting article in today's Hun in regard to Fitzpatrick titled; "It's time we saw some leadership". In regard to the Swans trading situation, he wrote; "Fitzpatrick's expletive laden conversation with Sydney's Richard Colless might not even have made the top 100 abusive phone calls in AFL history. But his mean-spirited decision to quickly strip Sydney's cost of living allowance then ban them from trading players through 2015-16 smacked of vindictiveness. Sydney did what all good organisations have done- turn a tiny loophole into a gaping chasm." He continues; "If only that was a rare moment of poor judgement from Fitzpatrick....", continuing with a list of "serious breaches of judgement", including(in brief); "Tardy and selfish Adam Goodes statement", "Conflict of interest in buying into management of ANZ Stadium", "Bungled decision to use old boys network" in dealing with Essendon (drugs scandal), "Refusal to freshen the AFL commission( by extending Chris Langfords tenure), "Unwillingness to instill consistent and transparent process" in regard to the Tippett saga, Melbourne tanking, and the Essendon drug saga. After more opinion and damming evidence of deals "behind closed doors", he finishes the article with this; " Time for some leadership from the Rio Tinto King. Time for Fitzpatrick to remind us all again why he is the AFL Commission chairman, and show that he has not hung on too long like Demetriou before him."..........I say "@@@@ off now Fitzpatrick, you moron!!" Good to see one Melbourne journo still see's things for what they are, but most are silent in regards to the Swans.

More of Maguire sucking up to Fitzpatrick in the Hun today. They are as thick as thieves these blokes.

Yes remember this is the VFL with others. We started this with getting Tippett and Franklin then Puppet, Fitz and Fat Face created a plan to f.......Sydney and the club has done nothing about it. We were gladiators dealing with the VFL now we are in the soggy celery whippers club.
