    Feedback on Latest Club Videos

Just thought I would give some feedback on the latest club videos.

I think someone got a new telephoto macro lens for Xmas or something. I find the latest videos are are excessively close up.

I don't want to see every zit, freckle, hair and piece of bum-fluff on the player's head.

Personally, I watch clips of training to see how the players are moving, not super close-ups that give no impression of overall context.

I feel this is a backward step for the club.

    Am I alone in this?

I don't know about close-ups v wider angle photos but I would prefer to see 20-30 shots which include a greater selection of players than a few close ups of a few players. More please, Swannies web site!!!

I've been contemplating starting a thread on this for a while. The videos are far too arty for my liking - close-ups, slow mo, black and white (ugh). Gets a bit tiring after a while. Just show us footy!

I'll choose two to talk about.

The interview with Sam I liked with a small exception; some of the marking in the training shots missed the actual footy because of the close up. But its context was fine - it's an interview so I expect more close ups because the focus isn't strictly footy.

The final 2014 training session I didn't like for the reasons you've pointed out. Plus it didn't tell the story. Show me the session, each of its components and how it all fits together. Achievable in 1-2 minutes and can be produced in a way anyone would like.

IMO, there is too much love-fest for Isaac Heeney at the moment before the guy has even played a single game for the Swans. I'm sure he is talented, but is he really such a draw card that they have to keep talking about him?

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Not sure if it's been mentioned or not but Tanya Paolucci has left the Swans. This may account for the changes in their videos.

They're hiring Media people, both a manager and a producer. Any suitable types? Actually they've re advertised it from before Christmas

Sorry to hear that Tanya has left. She grew so much over her time with the Swans and had become a really polished interviewer. Good luck to her. I hope her career continues to flourish.

I just caught up with some of the new-style videos. Ugh! I agree with comments early in this thread: too many close-ups, too much try-hard 'arty' touches, too little footy content, and that really annoying music in the background is painful!

Hope we don't have to put up with this video style all season.

It looks like they're going to do these vids for each player including close ups. First XR now Harry Marsh. I'm not sure that this change has occurred as a result of Tanya's departure or if it is just a coincidence.
