Scores locked 67 a piece, Heeney takes a vital grab around the middle of the ground, bombs it into the forward 50 with 10 seconds to go, pack worthy of 2005 forms, Towers crumbs and hands off to Bird who snaps it, siren sounds mid-flight as it sails through the big sticks.

I thought many of our blokes looked like they were going through the motions for much of the afternoon. Tackling intensity seemed a bit down compared to last week. It would have been nice to see one of the fringe players stand up and impose themselves on the game a bit more (apart from Heeney). I agree with the comment earlier in the thread that we have too many blokes just not doing quite enough.
Apart from a couple of missed tackles, I did like Jetta's game. This new role has seen him a bit more involved throughout a game than he tended to be last year. He's pretty good in traffic - stays calms, looks for options, knows he has his pace that can often get him out of traffic.
And Naismith showed a bit. He's not in our best 22 at the moment - assuming Tippo is fit to do some rucking - but he's showing signs he might be one for the future.
liz I know what you mean about going through the motions. I think they relaxed a bit after the rohan and franklin clash realising that they shouldn't risk themselves too much during pre season.
I liked Jetts game too. Also liked rohan much more than his previous two games. They have potential to be really potent running out of the backline.
I know we keep saying it but shaw looks like a man on notice. We have started the process of rejuvenating the backline. Grundy is probably next to go but we don't have an obvious replacement yet. Reid is still not sure about how to defend well but I can see why they are sticking with him down there

By the sounds of it from the radio commentary, Rohan played mainly up forward today did he not?
"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."
