Anyone watch the Saints last night?

On Fox they had the Saints magnificent season of 1997.

It was amazing to be reminded of their terrific year (1996 is on tonight).

It's amazing how footy has changed. None of the great players apart from Harvey and Aussie Jones exist in firsts.

Baz showed good signs, but no one could know the year he would have for Sydney in 2003.

Spider was a star for them all year until he did his shoulder in the final against the Lions. I think if he played in the Granny, they may just have won the flag.

Looking forward to tonight's viewing from 7.30pm.

Will this be the Sensational Sydney tape, or just a summary of the '96 season?

St Kilda had a great side then. I still can't believe they gave Stan Alves the boot a year later - apart from Melbourne sacking Norm Smith in 1965 it'd be the worst coach sacking ever.

I could never believe it myself

          1997 Grannie
1998 Finals (lost to us tee hee)
          1999 Sacked
          Watson
          Blight
          Thomas

That is a board that is so disfunctional I can't comprehend. Thomas just installing himself has to be the biggest load of rubbish ever. What due dilligence did they do on him and they other available options for Senior Coach? BLOODY NONE!
