NEAFL - did you pick this up?

Twitter yesterday evening notified that the Ressies were playing at the SCG AFTER the main event. 5.10 pm.

Better than nothing I say, so I will be staying on. Even if it is in the rain. YAAAYYY

Would be great for a few of the young boys to play in front of 10k at the SCG! Hopefully the weather gods are kind

Truth be told its probably 2,000, but that's beside the point. I haven't seen a Ressie game in forever. They keep changing the venues, get spooked by sprinkles, and the rain gods have been mean too. Once upon a time it was on for young and old, each and every curtain raiser. Now......sheesh. So I am very happy with this arrangement.

They are playing a celebrity match before the main game.

It must be a pretty short match. It's listed to start at 1.30pm and the first bounce for the main match is at 2.10pm! Still time to tear a hammy if they try to run too hard though.

So it's definitely still on if it rains?

I suppose putting it on after the main game is preferable to playing at some ungodly early hour outside at Lakeside!!
The surface of the SCG has never looked better and it cops so little wear and tear and yet they're paranoid about preserving it for the main game. Certainly not like the old days.

And now they tell us but haven't officially bothered to, that we have to move over to the Members Pavilions if we are staying. I wonder what the parking situation is like!

Hi Primmy, everyone needs to move into the Members Reserve for the NEAFL match (MA Noble Stand or the lower Ladies Pavilion), as this is the only area of the ground where facilities will remain open. We've included these details in tonight's match day eNews, along with the team list for Saturday - so the official notification is still on the way!

The member's post match function will also be on in the MA Noble Stand between the two matches, so if you're hanging around, we'd love to see you there. We're bringing in coffee carts, so head over to the MA Noble Dining Room after the main game for a coffee on us! You'll just need to show your Swans membership card to collect your coffee - hopefully it'll keep you warm whilst you're cheering on the Ressies.

Hope to see you all there!

                          Jenny

Jenny would you happen to know whether there will be the usual buses to Central/Circular Quay etc. at the conclusion of the ressies match?

If not, there's a brand new useless bridge to nowhere you can walk over.
