Indeed. So sad. Schneider looked devastated after the siren. Must be such a horrible feeling.

Shaw should have had the same feeling after the swans game

Did any media report include news about why Reid did not play on Saturday?

Was reported that he pulled up with a sore calf after training on Thursday. Hopefully just precautionary to omit him on Saturday and he will be ok for this coming match.

It's a lot to ask and wonder if the reason for some mistakes in recent weeks.

Once Reid is back, he and Laidler can act to cover pure forwards, and I'd leave Rampe free to play a bit looser and use his kicking to clear defence.

Match that with McVeigh playing more behind the ball to marshall things a bit more and use his elite kicking, and I'd feel better about our release options from the back.
I watched the back 6, quite closely and Rampe was the loose defender.
He and Shaw were both loose on occasions.

A bit too loose if you ask me

Gifting them 3 goals from Shaw, Grundy/Shaw and Jetta didn't help the cause.

Yup, I come back to that and I'm not too fussed in the general scheme of the season (beyond losing 4 points). We started pretty easily on top and then we let them into it with back to back howlers that gave them a run. If we played them tomorrow I think we'd beat them.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

That first quarter killed us...Buddy missing from straight in front then gifting them their first 3 goals...Shaw x 2 and Smith's horrid defensive spoil that went to the front of the pack. You combine that with Rampe's kick to Bontempelli and Laidler's fumble that led to the Honeychurch goal both in the third and that's the game done.

Judging by that last 15 minutes I'd say the second half fightback over in Perth last weekend might have taken a more significant toll than we thought.

Here's a chart of his game averages. Go here and hover over "abbreviations key" for the abbreviations.

He does kick less goals and more behinds post-2012, but then he plays less forward these days. "Effectiveness" is not really captured in these stats but I'd say he's pretty consistent and still above career average in most areas.

Not to mention that Rohan manage a super goal with a wet ball, where others failed from closer range.

                            Ugh.
Still boils down to you rarely win playing catch up footy.
                            Especially in the rain.
