From limited exposure it would seem to be a very good signing. Shaw or Smith replacement and if the pedigree is a family trait could add to our mids nicely.

After reading that, I've got a feeling he will be hitting his first few contests pretty bloody hard once he is back in the team!Twitter @cmdil

So, at the end of next season we will have Heeney, Mills, Jones, Mitchell, Parker and Hanners all aged 25 or under.
If that's not a scary fleet of young talent then I don't know what is.Comment

Especially if one or two others kick on like some of us think they might - Robinson, Hewett for instance."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

Part is right, we are 5 and 2 and two loses with small margins, but are we playing well enough at this time. Bombers smashed us and only the non pre season bombers and we should have been 0-1 but was 1-0.
Smashed Port and we are on track. 2-0. Best game for year so far after R7.
Giants lose but just 1 less shot and the ones from Cameron killed them. Did we play well, not from me. 3-0.
Obviously mugged by Dockers and i don't rate teams that fly home and just lose. We were close enough to win and we couldn't. Seen it too many times, but the Dogs thought they had win and left at half time and choked. 3-1.
Bulldogs have a young team and matched us at the contest and we losed. Horse said that we didn't kick straight, but didn't hear horse stating that we beat Giants because they didn't kick straight. You can't have it both ways. 3-2.
Demons are struggling and we just grinded down. Not playing well at all for Demons. 4-2.
Under pressure by the Cats and we torched the ball by hand and foot and frees for goals. After 1/2 time started looking better and worked away from later in the game. 5-2.
Will we beat Hawks or Dockers with that no.
Fortunately Horse has that the cat out of the bag. "Our defenders muck around too much and just need to kick up there to the fowards". (Paraphrased) Which means he doesn't trust the defence using the ball and no coaching for moving the ball forward.
If Mcveigh want to back flank, Laidler in the pocket, Rampe to half flank, further from goals, and we would like better already. I just don't see Rhyce helping to the team in this structure and more dependable with the position changes. Mcveigh is very good decision maker and Rampe should be the long kick relief kicker, not short passes our time to think. If needed with Mc veigh in Mid add Marsh or Jones, both give us different things.
We own the Cats so will the same team beat the Hawks. I hope so but they defend and attack well and can we cope for 130 minutes, with too many frees and turnovers.
Shouldn't be ready for a G.F at Round 8 but it is the way you play not necessarily the outcome that is important. After the 2012 G.F the Hawks beat us in all important games since. Dan gets smashed by everyone and we create no physical pressure, except Buddy, Parker and Mcglynn ( remember Bolton, O'Keffe and LRT for whole game) and Goodesy in the last quarter crashing into Mitchell and Buddy within 5 seconds apart. We just have to lift the hardness for the ball and body.Comment

We will need a few 190 odd cm guys in there, to compliment that list, if we want to keep up with the current trend of big midfielders.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

Mills is currently listed at 188cm I think. He's quite slight at the moment but with a frame that looks like it should bulk up nicely. Dunkley is a similar height and very strongly built. Heeney is 186cm and a good size (and exceptionally strong overhead). I don't think a few extra centimetres makes that much difference - look on a ruler and see just how small a couple of centimetres really is. Kennedy doesn't suffer from "only" being 188cm.Comment

As for Dunkley, hmmm, let's hope we don't have to sell the farm to get him onboard.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment
