      Great work - thanks ugg.

I'd like to see some of these blokes get a spell in the firsts, especially Naismith, Hewett and Rose. How do you think Davis compares with Rhyce Shaw for pace?

      Eskiesque! - waiting to happen.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I'd back Rhyce but then again I would back Rhyce against most of our players.

Brilliant report, Ugg. I especially appreciated the focus on a few players. Impressed to hear you thought Hewett outplayed Bird as best onballer. And pleased to hear Seany McLaren had a bit of an impact. I know he's only a first year rookie but I have hopes for him and was a bit disappointed in him, especially effort-wise, when I saw him play the Giants.

On a reserves related note, it was great to see Robbo get a run and do well in the seniors.

Incidentally, can you confirm Lloyd did not play? I wonder what's going on there. He's not meant to be injured. Ditto Jones.

Lloyd definitely did not play, also pretty sure he wasn't there. Of the injured players, Jones, Perris and Heeney were there

From his Instagram, I think Jake may have returned home to attend a funeral.

I think the funeral he returned home for was earlier in the week but I could be wrong.

Also Leigh Harding playing shows how much Brisbane's 2's are struggling, he's only meant to be up there as a development coach and reserves assistant coach yet has pulled on the boots the last few weeks!

Brilliant report again Ugg, it all sounds pretty positive but were there any listed guys that you were disappointed in?

They all played reasonably well but as Crouch said didn't really put in more than was required until the last quarter. I'm probably most disappointed that none of the fringe players in Bird, Hewett, Towers, Naismith had outstanding games that would have put their names forward for next week's game.

Just watched the highlights on the web site. Looks like chalk and cheese compared to afl level. I guess Brisbane aren't the best neafl team so it's not surprising. yet another struggle the northern clubs have as the vfl seems a much higher standard training ground for the youngsters.

I'm not sure how you can tell anything about the standard of the NEAFL from that highlight package. Did they get the work experience kid, who's never actually watched a game of footy, to put that together? It essentially just shows a series of routine set shot kicking, most of them from very slight angles. Only the Hiscox and McLaren kicks look worthy of being on a highlights package.

Looks like they just nabbed the goalkicking coach's highlights video for the week. They even managed to omit Rose's excellent mark, but snuck in the subsequent mundane kick at goal. Hopefully NEAFL TV will have better highlights.

Yeh this is definitely a low-point for the Swans media, those highlights are all completely pointless.

Agreed. What I really want to see are the contests. See how hard our boys were at the ball
