Needs to get a haircut, can't see 203cm Suns players standing half way between him and his intended target. Call me old fashioned but in all honesty, you can't spend half your game flicking hair out of your eyes.

You are an AFL player first Rampe, a fag smoking chick magnet with a stupid haircut second - cut it!

      In MY day. ..
I'm not too sure what a haircut has to do with a shank. I'm pretty sure i saw Shaw shank the ball as well.

He does seem a tool doesn't he?

I'm just not sure he has done quite enough to be dropped yet, he is just hanging in there. Our back six is very very settled (how unassuming is Smith, just an absolute legend) so I guess they'd rightly be loathe to change it

Having said that. I'm pretty sure he made redemption for it afterwards.

            DT Points
            Hanners 133
            Macca 131
            Mitchell 131
            Rampe 126
            Jetta 123
            . . .
            Shaw 90
            Jack 84
            Franklin 77
            Kennedy 60

So it seems like there's a few to be dropped before Shaw and Rampe. But agree re both their hair styles (well Shaw historically).

Round 9: Gold Coast Suns Reserves v Sydney Swans Reserves @ Metricon

From AFL article on second tier comps:
State league affiliate: Sydney Swans (NEAFL)
This weekend: Gold Coast v Sydney Swans - Saturday June 6, 12pm, Metricon Stadium
Midfielder Craig Bird (39 possessions) continued a strong month in the NEAFL to stake claims for a senior recall next week.
The Swans won by 30 points, with George Hewett (34 possessions) the other standout at Metricon Stadium.
Academy recruit Jordan Foote (11 tackles) was important, shutting down former Swan Nick Malceski in a run-with role before moving into the midfield.
First-year Swan James Rose, who is yet to debut, kicked three goals and had 25 possessions in an impressive performance.
Coach Marty Mattner said the South Australian has shown strong progress in the past month and was exciting against the Suns.

State league affiliate: Gold Coast (NEAFL)
This weekend: Gold Coast v Sydney Swans - Saturday June 6, 12pm, Metricon Stadium
Key forward Charlie Dixon, who was sent back to the NEAFL for breaking team protocols, took his medicine and kicked two goals in the Suns' clash against the Sydney Swans reserves.
Ruckman Zac Smith was also able to hit the scoreboard in his third straight NEAFL match, but high-profile recruit Nick Malceski was the victim of a shutdown job from Swan Jordan Foote.

Long and short of it Ampersand, is that they don't judge best list entries upon the stats - otherwise there is no way in hades that Marsh would have been in the best list for 5 games in a row earlier in the season.

Also good to see Newman have a strong game - looking forward to watching him go around next weekend down here in Canberra

Pity the stats aren't more advanced, very interesting.

What did Xav do to get in the best?

Where did Abe Davis play, 3 kicks and 14 handballs?

Foote is only a rookie, would need to be upgraded to the senior list first.

Understood. Just wondering if there was some aspect to his game that isn't reflected in the stats.

Unfortunately I didn't get there early enough on Saturday to see any of the ressies - but he certainly seems, in my limited viewings so far, to be one of those 'excitement' machine sort of players that can break the lines with his pace.

Was really surprised to see him named in the best, he hardly attracted my attention during the match. Rose, Hewett, Newman and Bird were the ones I thought were impressive, as I've written earlier.

Seemed to run around the whole ground so presuming some sort of midfield role.
