Horse clearly wasn't satisfied with the performance, so why should fans be?

I'll admit I'm still hurting about the 2014 GF, which to me came down to a failing of preparation, hunger and mental attitude. When I see similar complacency against a team we should absolutely dominate it rings major alarm bells for me.

The second half was played with one eye on next Saturday night and that isn't a bad thing. We should be pretty fresh and ready to go against the Kangaroos who will be coming off a 6 day break and an interstate trip.

Really looking forward to watching us at Etihad, we always seem to play our best footy there. 9-2 heading into the bye is nothing to be sneezed at, should we get the points.

North will be licking their lips after they watched that last night. By the way they play by far their best footy at ES.

We are dead set sooks when the rail comes.

Jetta was by far our best. Always had plenty of time and didn't slaughter his disposal. Others had plenty of it but boy their disposal was woeful. Hanners had over 40 disposals but gave it over so many times.

On disposal: Rampe looks as if he is being coached by Leo Barry. Gets the footy, holds onto it, goes left, goes onto his right side, goes back to his left, then right again until he finds himself with little time to dispose of it. Rarely disposes on his first movement. The one across goal was a classic "look at me", oh hell what have I done, oh, there is a man over there, i'll short pass to the opposition. That kick was at least 20 metres short of its intended target.

What's wrong with Kennedy. He is as slow as a wet week and about the worst kick in the side. His turnovers are nothing short of sensational, and mostly under no pressure. Handballs to nowhere and for the sake of it. Gets the footy by oh my....

Gary Rohan is the most over rated footballer in the comp. As a commentator said, he has to do better than single digit figures every week.

Tippett was filthy when handed the vest. Well one of the talls had to come off as they were all very, very ordinary.

At least Gaz gets in the clear when we need someone to kick to.

Agree re Josh - he's certainly not the extractor he was. But I think he needs more support the way the Cats used to support their pre-suns Gaz.

Stats say he doesn't get the footy when in the clear or doesn't do it often enough. Last night he got in the clear but fumbled, bumbled and over ran the footy.

Kennedy gets all the support he needs. We have a very good and deep midfield. What more does he need. Parker needs more support than Kennedy. Last night he got at least 3 frees for blocking and holding off the ball.

Kennedy is still the extractor he was but he just disposes of the footy so poorly.

Not sure about that, can't argue that it was a disappointing effort, regardless of outcome or final margin. Apart from some glimpses in the first qtr, it was pretty poor football, and the opposition ( who would have to be the worst team in it at this stage ), were decimated by injury and club sanctions, to the extent where I heard the commentators say Malceski was named emergency as they had no other listed players available to name ( Mal played in the ressies curtain raiser I believe) . Yeah we bank 4 points, yes it was a comfortable margin in the end. We didn't play good footy, and it's not round 1. Need to bring the same intensity week in week out regardless of our opponents.

Had to watch it at double speed (replay) , as it was such a game of clangers .
Horse couldn't believe what he was witnessing . Surely my coaching isn't that awful ! ( well that was the look he gave).

Full credit to the depleted Suns for their workmanlike defence and simply sitting on their man. Tippet has to find more open space .

I have one question. Why can't Tippett take a mark.

I was at the ground yesterday and it was interesting to watch the activity off the ball.
In the defence the guys were constantly talking and rotating around the Suns forwards.
For the second half the Suns had at least 1 and often 2 men loose in defence, makes it very. hard for the forwards to mark cleanly

Whilst we get an extra day's break, next week will be our second interstate trip in two weeks - with the Kangas at home, it will be a very tough match.

Some more sense coming through with recent posts ... but still people who are prepared to say we "took it easy" ...and don't seem to think abysmal skills spell trouble for real contests ... Kennedy was always slow ... and was not a great kick ... but was clearing more effectively then at the moment ... and the kicking has got worse.

Doesn't JPK have a newborn in the house? Could that help explain a drop in intensity?

Don't get the negativity. We had a lucky break in round one but after that have played three real contests, all interstate and we won 2/3.

We banked the 4 points. Case closed imho.
