I think I saw somewhere that Derrickx isnt in the extended squad but Naismith is. Does anyone know if that is correct?

Though I actually think that Nichols has improved with experience. I mean, his decisions generally don't have that element of mystifying surrealist performance art that they sometimes used to. But you're right with Stevic, he's certainly up there. He would have been my choice for the Norm Smith if Hawthorn had won the 2012 GF and I don't think that he's improved at all, as he still tends to only apply a strict interpretation of the rules to one of the sides in the contest.

Hmmm. I wonder what the odds on a Richmond win are?

Those aren't the umpires for the game. I think it's the "worst case" scenario in Ampersand's eyes

Razor Ray certainly is doing this game - as announced on AFL360, he'll then stay in Sydney for the weekend to join the SFL umpire who's doing his 500th game this weekend. Apparently he was something of a mentor to Razor (nothing to write home about! ????), but a great achievement to be officiating in his 500th game this weekend and good on him...

Phew! Just one of them would be bad enough.

Swans site Ressies report says that Heeney pulled up sore from training and will have to wait another week before playing.
We have them where we want them, everything is going according to plan!

Wow didn't really see that coming.

                    In Derrickx, Jones.
                    Out Pyke, Robinson.

Would like to see Naismith or Nankervis but oh well.

                          ^^^ well played!

These two will be our 28th and 29th players used in season 2015 for what it's worth.

Jones' inclusion also seemingly pushes Bird further down the pecking order, albeit being different players.

Tom Derrickx, fulfilling all your "I guess Pyke isn't that bad?" opinion needs.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I'm thrilled with both of those ins. Jones should be an excitement machine and hopefully Derrickx offers more than a restricted Pyke.

Changes - Round 13 vs Richmond

As we already pretty well knew, the club clearly keeps injuries close to their chests. No mention of Pyke's sore knee as recently as Tuesday in Tom Harley's report. Now we are told Pyke has had a sore knee (as we guessed) for several weeks. Fair enough, they don't want to advertise players' weaknesses when they are carrying injuries.

Ludwig will be beside himself. Got his wish with Pyke out - but replaced by Ludwig's other whipping boy Derickx!
