Buddy & Tippett

Buddy did get two weeks, down to one because of early acceptance.
If you think he was lucky not to get three down to two with early acceptance, then you are saying you think it could have been graded as careless with high impact and high contact -but the impact clearly was NOT high as Edwards was able to resume playing after the concussion test.
Or you think it was intentional - that Buddy intentionally hit Edwards in the head (high contact) with medium impact. Now if you think that Buddy intentionally hit a player in the head in front of the umpire we really have a problem. That is an act of sabotage for the club.
I think the MRP got it right.
And while I understand Buddy had to make a split second decision while running at full pace of what to do when he saw an opposing player on a collision course, I really wish he would abandon the bump. Despite his effort to get down low and tuck his arm in, he is simply too big a man to bump without risk of hitting high.Comment

They both deserve to be out for more.
We're protected... obviously.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

That is the most ridiculous and biased article I've read on suspensions. When you view Buddy's bump at normal speed, he had only a couple of milliseconds to 'decide' what to do in that situation. He was suspended because he's too big and too fast. It's hard to tell, but it looked more like he got Edwards in the chest and his arm ran up to his head. Okay. That's the rule. You bump and hit someone in the head you get suspended. But let's not go overboard, making it sound like a thuggish act, which was clearly the case in the Lewis and Hodge incidents. Most similar incidents to the Tippett one got off with a fine. The anti-Sydney sentiment grows day by day.Comment

I find it laughable that Carlton's Trigg was complaining about Buddy's 1 week when Gibbs received 2 weeks. Well gee maybe it was because they were two completely different incidents, (one a tackle and the other a bump). Also Gray was concussed, hence the difference in the severity.Comment

i expected a 3 with a 2 for an early plea. I think this is quite good. Nipper should have got a 2 with a 1 for an early and Tip the same. But I notice Nip got nothing. On a different note did anyone notice how Buddy just simply didn't put in after getting reported. He just let the report get to him and went right off his game. He didn't chase and his efforts were ordinary. A little bit of sulking me thinks. But even if it was just being put off game due to being reported he really needs to get rid of that from his game. The aggression I don't mind as he is showing he is committed but this lack of being involved because of his mind not being on the job. Needs to train himself to get over the setbacks quickly. Although the umpires knew if he was reported during the game he would react too. Interesting they didn't leave the report to match review and chose to report during the game.Comment

I'd be happy with that if it was reversed.
The debate around the interpretations the MRP operate within and the discounts due to priors is separate.Comment
