I think you will find that Fox Footy invented that stupid name, no one I know uses it. GWS isn't a Sydney team to me, it remains an invention from a back office in AFL house that no one asked for....

I don't think the Swans care either way to be honest, why on earth would the Swans care?

Having said that, I certainly agree that the AFL cannot aford them to fail.

The only benefit we really get out of the GWS test tube experiment is the academy system being enshrined but that should happened decades ago anyway?

Personally I don't care too much but I think the biggest opponents of GWS once the really hit their straps off field will be th Melbourne Clubs, the recent Swans vendetta will look like a minor skirmish then...

Yes, and weren't we blessed for the AFL to loan him to us for a couple years as their Ambassador

I like having two teams in Sydney. I generally barrack for the Giants except when they play us. I know there are some problems but this is a long terms project. The Gold Coast crowds are lower than the Giants' crowds of late btw. Not the only indicator I know.

If the AFL can't sustain 2 teams in Sydney it has major problems. Not now, but in 10-20 years when it's generational.

I am sure he made it up just to stir up the Swans and their supporters (and he probably did succeed). I think it is a stupid name for a game between the two Sydney sides and I hope the press will not be using it during this week.
