They're already talking about seeking AFL permission to officially 'rest' players next week as it has 'no bearing on any other team or ladder positions' according to Ross Lyon. Yes it bloody does....the following week when we most likely play them they'll be all rested up. Stuff them I say!!! But considering it's us they'll probably face in week one, I'm sure the AFL will most happily obligeComment

I don't understand why he hates us so much. we treated him really well. We paid his retirement fund for @@@@s sake. He ended up at Collingwood after us. He was only a bloody contractor after Hawks said they no longer needed him. He used us and played like @@@@. he was a thug at our footy club. Played only a few games because he was suspended for the rest. @@@@ing waste of space at Sydney. If he hates Sydney it is not our fault but his. he was out of control and the game was moving on. He wasn't moving with it, he was a dinosaur. He still talks that sort of stupid talk now.Comment

20 goals.
See, it's not rocket science.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

Really pleased with the ruthless nature of the past 2 wins. Whereas in the past we've put the cue in the rack and settled for a 30-40 point win, we've strung together consistent 4 quarter efforts and played out the games to the siren.
Perhaps we've learnt the hard way from our shellackings from Hawks and WC that you need to keep the boot on the opposition's neck when you're on top.Comment

No. He obviously didn't give us much bang for buck on the field, but go and listen to Richard Colless or talk to him (Colless) about 1994 when Colless came into the club. Off the field Dermie was one of the trio of sales guys (along with Colless and Barassi) who sold the game successfully enough to improve the off-field part of the club to the point where it pointed in the right direction. The football side followed. Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way you'll be a mile away and he'll be shoeless.Comment

His off-field antics included a close brush with a fellow at Coogee Beach that could easily have ended nastily. Not much return to the club there. He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

And, bloodthirsty, I would rather play North or the Crows (who seem to be our bunnies) than the Dockers, no question. It's the others in the top 4 that worry me most, starting with Hawthorn. All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)Comment
